Phil Simms Interview about Chad Henne

He said to be a NFL caliber QB you ***MUST*** be drop dead accurate....

Un Oh...Houston...We have a problem. I hope he tears it up from today forward but up to now he has been anything but *Accurate*

Henne completed 61% of his passes last year, which is 1% less than guys like Matt Ryan, Mike Vick, Joe Flacco etc. and better than guys like Favre, Sanchez, Cutler, Freeman, Bradford, etc.

I disagree with Simms. Its not the inaccuracy that will be Henne's downfall. It will be the lack of the mental capacity for the position, This includes the total lack of any leadership skills.
Chubbs

I think Henne is a capable starter. probably along the lines of Cutler and Sanchez. in the right system he can be ok, but I do hope we get someone soon. I'm going to support Henne and refuse to chant for Kyle Orton. I just can't handle 7-9..

61% is good but most of those passes were check downs and short passes
most of the qb in the league threw deep more and that's why henne percentage is higher than the norm..

I wouldn't voluntarily listen to Phil Simms ... ever.

Lol @ Nublar listing guys as if Henne is anywhere near their level of play, all of them including Sanchez is at multiple tiers above Henne. There's a whole lot more than being accurate to be a franchise QB. You know who was accurate? David Carr; he had one of the most accurate seasons ever recorded by a QB one time at 67% completion. Which doesn't mean **** because he lacked the other intangibles to be a franchise QB. Henne is another Carr minus the mobility. Carr was also a lot more talented than Henne ever was too.

Oh ya and like someone mentioned, Henne is the checkdown machine. Also Henne would rather sack himself than to throw the ball unless the guy is opened by 10 yards. Accurate QB's can make the throws in tight windows, Henne can't.

What does Phil say about his son and his potential as an NFL QB? I would love to ask him that question on record because personally I think Phil Simms is a wad.

Phil makes a comment about accuracy when he had a career 55.4% completion percentage and a career rating of 78.5. Douche.
