Phil Simms Interview about Chad Henne

The best way to measure a QB ... does he contribute to winning a game. In a tight game, can he bring home the bacon!!

Too often, its 10 of our guys ... battling 12 for a win!!
 
I think the completion percentage is a function of him checking down a lot. He could be a good qb, but always seems to have a handful or really stupid decisions that kill him/us during the game. Maybe it was Henning, or something else, but staring people down and throwing ducks up is not nfl quality. I like the guy, he can play if he gets his head on straight, just not sure he can. I sure hope he can though, it would sure shut a lot of us up and I hope he does. It would be nice to end all the BS and start a decade of good qb play so we can see just how good we can be.

Usually when people mean accuracy they mean ball placement, not completion percentage.
 
The best thing I saw Henne do in the 1st PS game is get on Murtha for jumping..that was the first time I've seen fire in him....and of course he went on to throw a TD.. He's got to have fire...
 
What was Henne's accuracy with Camarillo? Just wondering. I remember him hitting Greg on some key plays especially in the first Jets game of 09
 
as i pointed out in another thread. Henne's problems:

No emotion or will to win. No pocket presence, lacks confidence, slow feet, clumsy, poor decision maker, has almost no athleticism to speak of, no touch on his passes, cannot drop passes behind linebackers or in front of safeties because of his lack of touch, has poor fundamentals (slow as molasses release, low release point, poor in the shotgun and he doesn't even like being in the shotgun, etc.), picks the wrong throwing lanes...

has more batted balls at the line of scrimmage than any QB in the league over the past 2 seasons (because of his low release point and poor choices of throwing lanes), he's inaccurate on deep passes and sideline throws , very poor in play action with his fakes, can't beat shell coverages to save his life, has a lot of problems against various zone coverages, has problems reading any defense unless it's straight up man 2 man, gets confused on pre-snap adjustments by the defense, he's not good at hitting receivers perfectly in stride while they're on the move (he's more of a stop dead-target QB where receivers are at a standstill like on curl routes etc), stares down receivers constantly...

but other than that, he's a pretty good QB

Oh yea I'm sure everyone wishes they had him. :lol:

Whew!!!.....I was starting to think you were totally down about him but right there at the end you left the door open...
 
Henne needs to cut his turnovers down. That is what kills me. If he misses he misses, but you cant continue to throw 19 interceptions a season..He had 19 picks in 15 games, and his TD-Turnover ratio is terrible..
 
Cut Chad Henne, and name the teams that would make him their starter.
 
I watched a lot of the Atlanta highlights, the good and the bad....it looks like he still stares down his 1st read.

Phil makes a comment about accuracy when he had a career 55.4% completion percentage and a career rating of 78.5. Douche.

I didn't listen to the interview but I would assume he's talking about accuracy not comp %.

Phil Simms was a damn good QB, another reason why #s don't tell the whole story.

But I have 30+ years experience of watching succesful QB's in the NFL. And the luxury of watching one great one for 17 years in my own backyard.
I also have 13 recent years of experience of watching unsuccesful to horrible QB's firsthand.
Is that enough to make my point?
