"We were in the office all day looking at tape," Philbin said of his work on potential draft picks.
General Manager Jeff Ireland also hasn't met with Manning. Ireland was dealing today with a family medical issue. It caused him to leave the University of Miami Pro Day before it concluded and he was unable to attend the Make-a-Wish event at which he was also expected.
Despite the fact the Dolphins haven't formally met with Manning, Ireland has contacted the quarterback's representation team. And while Philbin was vague with details, he suggested something concrete could happen in the next week.
"He's obviously had a phenomenal career up to this point in time," Philbin said of Manning. "From all indications he's been a great leader in that locker room and had a great career with the Colts. And we'll see how things develop in the next week or so."

Next week.....no it must be this week if you want him go get him now.

Nice we will see it has been quiet so far but im sure manning has a few teams in mind... Hope we end up with him......

starting to think we're going to miss out on Manning and on Flynn too as Manning wont give us an answer before monday and someone else will get Flynn on tuesday.

Ozzy rules!!

Yeah this could get intense it will sting a little if we miss on all the top QB options but especially Peyton...... Not sure what to think at this point......

I would think Flynn will wait to sign anywhere until after Manning. Even if Cleveland is set on Flynn and ready to sign him, I think Flynn will want the first domino to fall. If you are Flynn, do you sign right away in Cleveland or wait to see if that job in Miami with your former coach opens up?

Of course if Manning drags this on for a couple of weeks, then I agree we could lose out on Flynn. But I don't see Flynn signing at the start of free agency with any team until Manning makes up his mind.

La Canfora said Flynn will wait for Manning to sign with a team before signing a contract.

People need to just be patient. Do you expect our front office to say "We obviously have been pursuing Peyton Manning and will do whatever it takes to get him here ASAP."? When you're playing poker, you have to bluff, and keep your cards hidden.

Both sides are using restraint and not talking much. They are keeping expectations down. That is wise.
It as good to hear the head coach make a few statements about Manning. It has been kind odd that he was not making some kind of public statement until now. I was starting to wonder.

Drew Brees Plz. :ponder:This feel like another settle for whoever is left selection. We are not sure of anyone. Is Manning even healthy? Will he remain that way if so? Who will we pass on while bickering over scraps. I don't mean any disrespect to Manning, if healthy, HELL YEAH TAKE HIM. Is he healthy? I think about the Brees vs. Culpeper year. I hope we are not heading that direction. How ironic also, that Brees could potentially be in play at some point.

I adjusted the font for you.

And if we lose out on Manning and Flynn, then we have a better chance for RGIII or even Tannehill. Obviously the fan base would rather see Manning, and so would Mr. Ross because of ticket and jersey sales alone, but there are several different scenarios that could unfold, being patient may be the best thing for the franchise.
