Joe Philbin, Jeff Ireland & Jake Long all represented by CAA. Clients of Trace Armstrong (Former Dolphin), Jimmy Sexton & Tom Condon. Per @ArmandoSalguero. Salguero also reports Philbin will be the frontman when negotiations between the Dolphins & Manning begin.

This is also Manning's agent, so we probably had a good idea last month of what it would take to sign Manning. Miami made no salary cap moves since then to get us in financial position, so I assume they chose to balk at Manning.

The Dolphins will not get any free agent worth anything as long as Ross is the owner and Ireland is the GM. Veteran free agents only see dysfunction and desperation when they look at the Dolphins front office.

Keep convincing yourself of that if it gets you through the day.

Right... Reggie Bush is horrible, Dansby is trash, and Marshall is Moose-dootie..

Good point. That is what I was wondering as well. Going into free agency, I kind of expected us to restructure a few contracts and release a player or two to free up cap room. The fact that they have not done that yet seems a little odd to me. Sure, they could still do so, but with free agency set to start tomorrow, I guess I thought that they would have wanted to have all that stuff done by now so it wouldn't be an issue once FA started.

Considering that Teh Garbageman & Spielman with Wanny as HC did a decent job of signing free agents and by comparison, Ross & Ireland look like Kraft & Pioli in NE, I would expect they'd stand an even better chance of continuing to sign top echelon free agents like Dansby, Reggie, Marshall and Starks... (and passing up, if even rudely, mediocre free agents like Ryan Clark who think they're entitled to top performer money.)
