Philbin is my guy.. here's why

Philbin

I agree get Philbin and may go after Flynn. It can only make Matt Moore even a better QB.I saw a spark in him that I never did with Henne.I also would make Bowles the defensive coordinator so we don't change much food from Nolans style.

If Philbin leaves, I am sure the Packers would promote Clements to OC. Doubt he follows Philbin across the country, uproots his family, and goes to a worse team just to take the same job. I think if we do hire Philbin it is a sign we will go after Flynn, not quite sure how I feel about that considering he has a relatively small sample size. Doesn't mean we'll end up with Flynn though. Thats on Ireland to offer him the best contract. Flynn will not come here just because of Philbin, he will go where the money is

Why wouldn't Philbin hire Clements as OC? it's the only way to get him here.

Had Cameron had a QB things may have worked out a little more on his side - it was a horribly weak class of QBs and we started Cleo Lemon and Beck Lemon is plain bad he was finally cut in the CFL a year and a half too late - Philbin will likely bring in Flynn if he is comfortable

He'd take the Packers staff with him! A organization that knows how to win. People want to compare him to Sparano. But last I checked, the Packers offense was AGGRESSIVE, always going for the kill, rather than settling for FGs. His main job was preparing the offensive game plan so he has a keen eye for match ups.

I hope he would take with him...

-Tom Clements (Green Bay's QB Coach) as his offensive coordinator. Helped develop Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flynn.

-Winston Moss (Assistant HC, Inside LBers Coach for the Packers) as the defensive coordinator. He'd bring an aggressive style 3-4 defense so the Fins would have the stability of keeping an aggressive 3-4 and hopefully Moss will keep aggressive into the 4th (looking at you, Nolan)

And finally, Philbin and Clements would have first hand knowledge on the true potential of Flynn. If they think he's worth signing, then go get him. This wouldn't be a AJ Feeley move because these guys would know if he really is worth the investment. (Well that plus we wouldn't need to invest draft picks)

..Plus it doesn't help that the other candidate, McCoy's offense put up 10 points against the crappy NE defense in the biggest game of the year.

Love everything you said brother.. I just hope the Fins pick the right guy this time.. I want to win so damn bad I can taste it.. And if Philbin is the guy and he brings Flynn with him.. We cold do some much more in the draft if we knew we had the answer at QB..

Im all 4 it. Pull the trigger Jeff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign me up, i would do it in a heart beat if the Fins know from interviewing Philbin this can happen. Especially the Matt Flynn free agency probability. Outside of them knowing his potential, he would also know them and would come in with some form of confidence in knowing the system. Which may accelarate a turn around/rebuilding situation.
