Philbin on NFLN at 5EST

Both guys handled themselves very we'll. This entire thing has gotten very weird.

Dude, I actually feel bad for Philbin in this spot. This thing snowballed in a way that NoONE could see coming. Philbin is in a lose/lose situation...

But when you are facing a rabid media, you need to give hem something and need to look in control. He blockaded them in a way that will cause them to tear him to shreds like a pack of rabid wolves... He wasn't prepared for some of the questions, especially the "did you think Martin was soft question"... It was obvious.

Tannehill, on the other hand, seemed much more in control and answered questions honestly and candidly without airing anything out that would jeopardize the investigation.

I understand a coach, not the President, and he shouldn't be answering questions from the like of CNN, etc. that's why I feel for him. This thing mushroomed on him, and unfortunately he will be a casualty in all this. Part of his job was to lead and control the team. The way this thing mushroomed, even if many aspects were out f his control, are a reflection of his inability to handle this role.

When this investigation is over Philbin can speak more freely. Until then the responsible thing to do is hold all comments until the NFL has done what they have to do. In the meantime speak about the confidence of the players you have in your locker room. You've decided Philbin is in a lose lose situation, but that's not what everyone has decided. More level headed people believe in waiting until all the facts are out. Tannehill was shocked anything was up, and he was in the locker room alllll the time. This cry for Philbin to know anything or be psychic is questionable.

Idk. RT just opened my eyes honestly. This **** should of never gotten out of hand like this. IMO cogs a POS but Martins is almost just as bad for hurting the ENTIRE team and organization like this because now it seems he just trying to get money. If you can't handle the sport GTFO and if you are a grown man and act like 17 year old thug SFTU and you don't deserve to play in the NFL either. I am glad RT stood up in said this because he just made this locker room so much mentally stronger then I had hoped at a time like this. Hope we take out all of our anger on the next few teams.

IMO Martin harbored all these feelings and put on an act to get along in the locker room. No one had an idea how he really felt.

BINGO!!! Tannehill stating that Martin was a very quiet individual and hardly spoke, would indicate he kept whatever feelings he had about what he was witnessing in the locker room or experiencing himself. He contemplated quitting several times and finally figured he was done and up and left the team. I can only imagine what was going on in Martin's mind to keep a voice mail from 6-7 months ago and use it as way to make your point and hide your lack of desire for the sport. Players and Coaches jobs are on the line and will lose jobs and have reputations tarnished due to a loner who didn't seem to fit in with the culture of an NFL locker room. Something is amiss here and it ain't the Miami Dolphins!!!!

Tannehill said in so many words"today is the first day where the team felt a little more relaxed after the blindsided Cogs/Martin situation."Said so much was happening so quick but today it settled down...

Thank freakin god...

More and more information.

Player interviews, tweets, pictures, etc...

Looking like Martin just has issues. Looks like Martin just doesn't want to play ball anymore and wants a pay day.

Sad part is, I really do believe Incog considered him a great friend.

Put Hartline also on "Team Incognito".

Beasley: Tyson Clabo is irate at Jonathan Martin: "I don't know why he's doing this. ... This is ridiculous."

Abramson: When asked if players could possibly welcome Martin back, Hartline says he has an opinion but won't share it

Wow.

Looks like Martin sold his friendship for a cool $20 mill settlement.

Exactly. But, its really odd that he saved voicemails and texts from all the way back in April. Im not so sure this whole thing wasnt staged by Martin.

It's not that odd. Martin is a very intelligent guy and this is his way of getting back at his tormentor.

yeah Hartline isn't happy. Said Martin initially played one of the voicemails in the locker room and laughed about it.

Clabo also called what Martin is doing rediculous

So it appears Jonathan Martin is a ****ing scam artist to me. How does anyone NOT draw that conclusion after hearing what Tannehill, Clabo and Hartline had to say?

Philbin was inept. I love the apologists claiming otherwise. There's talk about never being in a lockerroom. I've been there dozens of times, albeit a long time ago, covering USC football and basketball. Likewise in pressers. John Robinson was a PR master. There's no way he would have stood there and been as weak and insignificant as Philbin was today. There was a rambling meaningless segment about allowing players to reach their potential. The reporter properly cut that off, because it was going nowhere. Then Philbin got terse and asked if he could finish the response. That was unnecessary and only made him look worse. None of that would have mattered if he had a basic response to the "toughen up" aspect. He had nothing, even thought that was guaranteed to be question 1, 2 and 3. It was absurd lack of preparation and no ability to adjust on your feet.

Typical Philbin interview. Politically correct, can't answer tough questions. Hey don't get me wrong I'm all for keeping things in house but he definately doesn't express anything extra. What's the point of interviewing him. The players are saying more than him and he is the one that should b expressing thoughts on behalf of the players. Cam cameronesk if u ask me. Makes me wonder if he's covering something up.
