Philbin although too early to tell, comes across as analytical, smart, patient, who wants to teach and develop players. IMO this is ideal when it comes to taking a step back, evaluating players and making game day decisions. Sparano was terrible IMO game day. Terrible decisions (play action on a 3rd and long with a QB who was uncomfortable turning his back to D) and a lack of game management regarding tempo and when to be aggressive.

Sherman IMO is the ideal guy to have as his co-cord. Philbin has never called a game in NFL and IMO Sherman has proven to be at least one thing, a superb offensive mind. He set numerous records for Green Bay in both the run and the pass and is 100% trusted by Philbin.

In regards to our offensive philosophy, Philbin continually uses the word 'flexible', being able to change or adapt and having the ability to do so. He wants players with 'multi' skill sets so they cannot be defined to set-plays. When you look at our roster, granted we need one/two on O'line and a couple of WR's but we do have flexibility.

Reggie Bush is the ultimate 'multi-option' RB. He could genuinly line up at slot WR and last year avg. 5.0 YPC.

Daniel Thomas, although not in the same bracket as Bush, does have very good hands and will benefit from zone blocking scheme.

Charley Clay, much like Reggie Bush is again the ultimate 'multi-option' player, lining up anywhere from, RB/FB/TE/WR.

Devone Bess. He can line up in slot or wide and has shown enough running ability on quick screens.

Fasano, although not the big play receiver, is effective in pass game and also an excellent blocker of which Philbin has stated he wants from a TE.

Looking at these players listed above, if you were a def co-ord and you had Sherman calling the plays on opposite line, would you be able to predict whats coming next?

What people do not realise is that Philbin has talked about developing our own and drafting for future. The oldest player in this bunch is Fasano at only 27. Even taking into account O'line, Jake Long is only 26, both younger than the QB some want in Brandon Weeden.

I think Philbin and Sherman with the pieces we have ALREADY in place, are the ideal and perfect fit for the future of the Dolphins.

i agree. i am also interested in what he will do with Hartline. i believe he has some really good hands and is also fast. if used properly he could be very good for us. also with the other WRs on the roster, and of course whoever we draft. i do think that we have some really versatile and flexable pieces. maybe more unique than most other teams. a solid blocking TE who dropped all of 1 pass last year and made some really good acrobatic ones, one of the best play making/multi faceted RBs in the league, an extremly unique hybrid in clay who flashed a lot last season, and also these guys all have good atitudes and like beign team players for the miami dolphins. top it off with the fact that they are all in their 20s and we have some great building blocks in place. i feel tis is part of the reason bell was cut, philbin is not "rebuilding" per say but he is trying to get his young team together for the next few years.

Get Camarillo back...good routes, hands and will be cheap but a little slow.

To add to this point, I remember when Sparano took over, he couldn't decide on who he's O.C. would be, Parcells had had to recommend Henning, and had to bring him out of retirement..

Which reminds me how much I welcome the change to the WCO.

I like Hartline. Although nowhere near elite, I think he could be productive in this offense. Deceptively fast, runs good routes, good hands and is tough over middle. I just think we need at least 2 very good recv to go along with Hartline & Bess.

If Hartline was any good then you wouldn't need to bring in "at least 2 very good" receivers.

Fact of the matter is Hartline stinks

Packers have 5 good recv, we currently only have 2. Philbin has stated he wants options and IMO would like multiple packages as opposed to a no.1 recv, so ........what u talking about?

typical bagface reply

Dude, I love your mock! If Miami goes 4-5 on your mock, I will ask my ex-wife to marry again. But then, that shooting for the moon...dream is a good thing! are you kidding me? we're talking Superbowl with these picks. Every holes filled. Whaoo!!

For a guy who doesn't produce, Hartline has a pretty gawdy yards per catch average.
