Philbin Still in Play

Probably my least favorite potential candidate. So knowing how Ross dedicates his life to ****ing with me, there's a good chance he's it.

Hes more like Sparano; OL coach, turned OC, turned HC?

I'm more interested in their QB coach Tom Clements

The Jets job will be Sparano's first OC job. And not all guys with similar career paths are the same coaches. Philbin has been with the Packers since 2003, meaning under Mike Sherman AND Mike McCarthey both of whom are West Coast Offense guys. Tony spent his entire NFL career in the Parcells coaching tree (except for one year). Tony's style fits the traditional Bill Parcells mold.

Ain't that the truth. Take Wanny and Belicheck for instance. Both started out as DCs for iconic head coaches, both failed miserably in their first HCing gig, both went back to their former HC for a job as a DC and both got a second chance at HCing. I'd say that's quite a similarity, but from then on, not so much.

I think between Philbin and McCoy, I'd prefer Philbin. It worries me that McCoy was able to make due with crap QBs his entire career...suggests the team is comfortable wallowing in the QB-less cesspool.

I like the Zimmer idea, but I'm also on board with either Philbin or Carmichael. How can any of us not like the idea,of getting one of those OC's.ESPECIALLY when both Philbin and Carmichael had a direct hand in running two of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL!!! If we can get Bowles to run our "D",I think things could turn around pretty quick.ALOT of "IF'S" I know.........but we need to move on our staff NOW!!!
