Feinstein How does beating the falcons confirm the talent on the team?

Philbin Said a lot of things went wrong such as stopping the run and TOP but the Fins still found a way to win the game. Made enough plays at the end of each half. Due to the teams fabric and chemistry by playing together to overcome adversity.

Feinstein What did the coaching staff see in Tannehill that was special?

Philbin He was a high character guy, unselfish, and an athletic football player. Said along with the arm strength and accuracy that football was very important to him which the staff thought would help him reach his high potential.

Feinstein What is the most satisfying part of being 3-0?

Philbin The team came back while being down in the second half of each game. Speaks of the high character of the guys on the team.

Feinstein What adjustments did you make from year one to year two as a head coach.

Philbin Reviewed management of football situations in the game itself such as the 2 minute drill, timeouts and when to use challenges. Said he wanted to get better at the suttle moments in a game that can make a huge difference between a win and a loss. Then they incorporated those into practice situations and have paid off so far.

Feinstein How hard was the decision to due Hard Knocks?

Philbin Said after meeting with NFL films the decision was quite easy. They were very professional and that he only required his staff and players be treated with the utmost respect.

Feinstein What is the best and worst thing about being a head coach?

Philbin Said he loves working with a great organization. He likes that he is able to work with so many different people who want to restore the Fins to the greatness they once were. Said he misses the classroom time with the players.

Feinstein How is preparation different for Mondays game?

Philbin Said it really isn't different. Have a good formula that they are sticking to. Said it will be important in a loud stadium to play good old fashioned football, ie, no missed tackles or mental mistakes.

Feinstein How has the tragedy your family has gone through made you a better coach?

Philbin Says developing meaningful relationships has helped his coaching style/philosophy. Said the tragedy has made football decisions a lot easier.

Also a little tidbit from the interview that I didn't know is that Philbin actually went to college with Roger Goodell. Said they didn't really hang out that much but that he knew who he was. Said Goodell was a lot smarter than him which is why he is the commissioner and Philbin is the coach.

All in all a damn good interview.
