Philbin trading marshall

Ummm, Montana retired like 15 years ago and the WCO has changed quite a bit. Did Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees or Eli Manning have a "Jerry Rice" to throw the ball to? No, and they have 7 combined titles and run a modern version of a spread, WCO.

Peyton Manning had hall of fame receivers to throw to so lol

Both the Manning's had good receiving corps. Peyton had Marvin and Wayne, Eli had a pretty good trio in Nicks, Cruz, & Manningham. Mario was the least talented of those 3 and he's better than anything we currently have. Drew Brees had a very competent receiving corps in New Orleans, Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Robert Meachum, Devery Henderson, Jeremy Shockey, & even our very own Reggie Bush in a back-up role to Pierre Thomas. Tom Brady did go to a Superbowl with Randy Moss in 2007, but I guess that doesn't mean anything. Troy Brown, Deion Branch, David Givens, David Patton, Daniel Graham and Kevin Faulk weren't slouches, but understand you're trying to make that argument with possibly the greatest quarterback to ever play the game in Tom Brady. If Tannehill ends up being as good as Tom Brady, then maybe I'll buy that argument. Until then, I'd like to see them continue to upgrade the talent of receiving core when possible.

To anyone who thinks I'm bashing the Marshall trade, I refer you to page 4.

Any new coach worth his salt and half a brain cell was going to trade BM. I mean, i've been saying that on this site for like 2 years or something now, but when people take over companies they don't hang on to old workers that are underachieving jerks......that's just not the way the world works.

All in all, i think it's a good lesson for a lot of the kids that are DOLFANS.... on this site and everywhere.

The QB also makes the WR. Even more then the WR makes the QB or himself.

Beside all the "problems" that came with BM (or Bowel Movement as I call him), everyone should remember one thing.

Last season HE SAID that he does not run good routes or has good hands. HE SAID THAT HIMSELF.

His idea of a route was often to make it up as he went along, he would try as often as possible to simply out muscle the corner when he could. And he did not have very good hands. (Interestingly, he also did not feel the need to work on these two aspects of playing WR)

I admit that I'm not 100% up to speed on the WC passing offense but I have heard that you need WRs who run very precise routes and can catch well. Again, forgetting that Bowel Movement is a mentally disabled man that goes around and sucker punches women at their birthday parties, he does not sound like a good WCO WR to me.

Who do you want the focus on this training camp and preseason? BM's latest funk ups or what our new HC wants it to be about. Do you really want BM spending his time telling Ryan Tannehill how he wants him to play QB?

We all get it that we do not have a stable of great WRs. Really, we do understand that.

But let me ask you. Did you want us to draft Tannehill or the best WR in the draft? Did you want us the draft the RT we needed so bad or the 3rd best WR in the draft? etc etc etc

The real reason Marshall got traded is he is a out of shape, lazy, self centered wr. During every game I watched him play in Miami he constantly took him self out because he was winded. Philibin has already said he is using a fast break offense and Marshall couldn't keep up with the last offense there was going to be noway he kept up with this one. I was a huge Marshall supporter while he was In Miami however it was pretty annoying watchen him make a 30 yard catch and call to the sideline for replacement

I think it had more to do with how he wants this offense to run, he doesnt want a Diva WR that needs the ball thrown to him 10-12 times a game to keep him happy, I think this offensive will be throw to the open guy regardless who he is which I think will make Hartline and Bess household names over the next 18 mos......I am starting to beleive in this new coaching staff cant wait to see this team on the field to see if they can back up all this talk.......

Now that he's no longer on the Fins, all of a sudden everybody realized what a head case Brandon Marshall is and hes not worth the trouble... Funny how that works.
Like it or not, Marshall is a very good player and a top 15 WR in this league (at worst). Obviously he had some lapses in concentration last year and dropped a few balls, but in reality if he didn't drop a few balls here and there he'd be on the level of Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson.
My attitude (and the correct attitude) towards trades is that if you don't get
value for the player, then you don't make the trade. There is no way in hell you can argue that two 3rd round picks is the appropriate vale for Brandon Marshall, especially not for a team that now has zero in the way of a legitimate offensive threat.

It was a terrible trade. EVen with his problems, Marshall is still twice the player of anybody currently in our WR corps. Btw, Marshall is not being charged for his role in the NY night club incident, so anybody dumb enough to use that incident to excuse the trade is just an *******.

Trading BM was a sign that our new coaches has some class and smarts. He is a cancer and makes way too much money who what he what he brought to the team.

This is a new day in Miami, it is always a smart move to cut the dead wood and problem children off a new and improved TEAM that you are trying to build. As fans you can believe in what you want but when our new HC and WR coach did not want BM here, just maybe you should think they know what they are doing. Football is a team sport and BM is not a team player, he is a BM player.

We got rid of him and we are moving on as it should be. The Denver Broncos did not take long to get over losing him. In the game that he is famous for, the one where he had 21 catches, they LOST that game.

Cut the "dead wood"? Brandon Marshall is "dead wood"? He was the only halfway productive player on our offense... You know what? This isn't worth arguing.
Its really unbelievable, the verbal diahrea that you read on this board.

I think it was a bad trade on our part, too. But no one will know until this next season plays out. What if Marshall continues to drop TD on the Bears? What if a couple of the young guys step up big? I'm pulling for Gates, Matthews, Cunningham, and Moore to round out the bunch (with Fuller on the PS).Then the trade has good value. It's like grading a draft the year it happens. Impossible.

I'm pulling for all of those guys as much as anybody is, but I'm also thinking logically. All things considered, trading Brandon Marshall for two 3rd round picks makes no sense. Period.

Dude...go take a nap.
