Philbin trading marshall

I'm not crying over brandon marshall. but I'm doubting profusely we have any WR's who come close to his production this year. it'd be a nice surprise if I was wrong though, and a welcome surprise.

IMO, I'd rather have 3 or 4 guys have 40-60 cathces, than 1 guy dominate the targets.

Also, some people need to realize that the coaching will make a big difference in the way our players perform, and, the TE position will be utilized a whole hell of a lot more than the previous regime used it, expect Clay to have a big year, hell may be the teams leading pass catcher.

Would that really be such a bad thing? I mean with all the production Marshall has had over his two seasons in Miami, where exactly did it get the Dolphins?

It was a terrible trade. EVen with his problems, Marshall is still twice the player of anybody currently in our WR corps. Btw, Marshall is not being charged for his role in the NY night club incident, so anybody dumb enough to use that incident to excuse the trade is just an *******.

Agreed. I'll never understand apologists. There's very little chance that this trade will work out in our favor.

You can always cheer for him in Chicago! I'm not sure how we would manage without your contributions here but i"m sure we could find away.

Now that he's no longer on the Fins, all of a sudden everybody realized what a head case Brandon Marshall is and hes not worth the trouble... Funny how that works.
Like it or not, Marshall is a very good player and a top 15 WR in this league (at worst). Obviously he had some lapses in concentration last year and dropped a few balls, but in reality if he didn't drop a few balls here and there he'd be on the level of Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson.
My attitude (and the correct attitude) towards trades is that if you don't get
value for the player, then you don't make the trade. There is no way in hell you can argue that two 3rd round picks is the appropriate vale for Brandon Marshall, especially not for a team that now has zero in the way of a legitimate offensive threat.

It was easy to see from the start that Marshall was a fraud. I never liked bringing him here.
Especially when he told everyone in the beginning he was a changed man LOL.
What a joke this guy is. I am so glad we got his ass out of town while there was still some value. I mean the guy dropped almost every big play imaginable and my favorite one was watching a so called top 5 WR fall out of bounds.
His YAC in his first season was what? 2.8 or so. Also 50 WR's in this league had more TD's than Brandon.
Sorry you are so upset about moving him but he just didn't fit. On the field or off.
Marshall was a so called superstar that isn't. The Marshall experience was a lie. Glad he is gone.

The definition of HOMERISM: Inability to bear any criticism about your team, however warranted

Yes Marshall had a bit of an issue with being disciplined and consistent. You know what fixes that? Coaching. GOOD coaching. Not Fat Tony and his band of useless goons.

In 2010, B Marshall dropped 13.13% of the catchable passes thrown to him. Only 9 of the top 55 WRs were worse then he was (J Nelson was worse then Marshall )

In 2011 B Marshall dropped 14.74 of the catchable passes thrown to him. That made him 79th out of 91 WRs. Donald Driver was worse then Marshall.

Definition of CANCER and GOOD-RIDDANCE- A more bearable working environment within a "TEAM" concept free and void of a dirty, rotten to the core if left unchecked infects the bunch apple.

I know ive asked 500 times for a link, but can just one ****ing person playing the cancer card, please for the love of god, provide me with a link ehere a team mate either past currrent or otherwise said brandon marshall was a cancer.

I haven't found one. but... there is recent articles/video of our current WRs making comments about... the passing game won't be all about one guy anymore. I think he was traded not because philbin didn't want him on the team, not solely anyway, I think he was traded after philbin talked with the current players and got a feel for how they would feel if he was gone.

Trading marshall was philbins message to the lockerroom, saying he has arrived and no ones safe. It'll get the team alot more focused alot quicker. brandon Marshall trade was a blessing in disguise.

I think it had more to do with knowing that their plan was to draft Tannehill, not to have a Diva reveiver that might mess with the kids head and his development.

I'm willing to bet that we'll have more yards, first downs and most importantly points than we had last year which will make us better overall. Marshalls production will be spread out to the rest of the offense. I believe we will be better in the red zone where Marshall was mostly invisible.
