Philbin wants no-huddle, agressive, creative offense

Whether its Peyton or Flynn, more Flynn to me considering he has worked with hhim, he is going to need to be confident in his QB to run that type of offense.

The jersey-boys Tuna & Tony wanted to smash them in the mouth & TAKE 5 yds. That's great football when you have superior talent ... but, WE generally got smashed in OUR mouth!!

Bravo to Philbin if he can scheme to give us matchup advantages. Saying & Doing are 2 different things, as Tony taught us.

Nolan was pretty good at scheming ... hated to lose him!! Hope Philbin can get that done on BOTH sides of the ball!!

The fact that Philbin didn't keep a successful Nolan concerns me. Hope he doesn't become some dictator who loves his YES men. We shall see!!

I am getting to the point where it doesnt matter who our QB is between Manning, Flynn, RG3, or Moore because I believe that whoever the guy is running the show, Philbin will have the entire team focused and knowing their assignments to the point of, as he put it, "counting to four

Flynn will know what to expect from Philbin, Manning already has it, and Moore will simply learn the new stuff all over again while knowing the players involved already.

New coach Joe Philbin said Friday the team will “absolutely” make significant use of the no-huddle offense, will exploit matchup advantages and will use multiple formations to keep defenses guessing.
“We want to create mismatches… with our formations, our motion, our shifting,” he said. “We may line up with no backs in the backfield.
Next play, we may have two tight ends and two backs. We want to play fast, make the defense adjust. If they can’t adjust and if they can’t handle our empty backfield and if we’re completing passes left and right, we’re going to stay with it and make them stop it.
“I’m not saying we’re going to be no-huddle every play. [But] if you want to be an up-tempo team, you want to have as many at-bats as possible.”
Philbin said the Dolphins will practice the no-huddle a good bit when the offseason practices begin in May: “Let’s be proactive with it. We want to get our players used to playing fast and decisive.”

Sometimes this place is like coming relieve I swear, didn't we just see this movie last January? I'm excited just like the next guy, but we have heard this **** before. Albeit it's coming from a coordinator who orchestrated a top 10 offense as oppose to one that coordinated 30th Rank offense.

"I think we are going to do whatever we need to do to give us a chance. Like I said, whether that is spread it out - I think there is definitely some tools to be able to do that - or tighten it down to determine the type of players you are playing against," Daboll responded when asked about his play-calling. "What we are going to try to do is attack the weaknesses of the defense and we are going to try and maximize our strengths. Whether that is spread it open, ‘let’s go’, let’s get in a no huddle and move [or] whether that is tighten down, we are going to do that."

Daboll also said the team will use various personnel groupings and that they are "going to try to use formations, some different motions, and different shifts to try to create mismatches." Of course, this is what every offensive coordinator would tell you. The question is how effectively will Daboll's offense be able to create and take advantage of these mismatches.---BRIAN DABOLL

Nolan left first, Philbin didn't get rid of Nolan. Where did the "yes man" fear come from??

If they are successful running a no huddle offense in Miami in Sept&Oct defenses will be depleted by start of 3rd Qtr. I just hope WE avoid the cramps next year!

There won't be any issues with cramps next season, the players will go through OTAs and a full camp before playing their first game.

Lets just hope all of our home games are at one o'clock, and no early season sunday and monday night home games this year. I wanna see the opposing teams wilt in the heat and humidity like in the Don Shula and Jimmy Johnson era. It's time for Miami to take back it's home field advantage.

Why do you figure Nolan left? ... Philbin didn't seem to want him (we don't know details)

Also ... Many on the board said Nolan had another year on his contract ... I don't have knowledge of that.

Thus, sure seems like Philbin wanted his guy ... instead of Nolan who was rock solid.

The question begs ... why do you replace rock solid Nolan? Suppose we shall find out.

Regardless of who said it before. Let's take at look at the parties saying it...

Joe Philbin teamed up with Mike Sherman vs. Tony Sporano teamed up with Brian Daboll.

One group has been successfully running this type of offense for years, while the other has no history of running such offense, one of them maybe, but was he ever successful?

I'll let you figure out who matches which description, I already know the answer. :)
