Philbin won't commit to starting Tannehill against oakland in press conference.

Though Philbin again refused to name starting QB, several players said Tannehill took the first team snaps today

Tannehill has no doubt played bad, but he has not played bad enough to warrant a benching.

I thought we already named Tannehill the starter for the Oakland game? Sounds more like they're competing for it this week.

So, reading between the lines, sounds like Tannehill just doesn't have it upstairs to run an up-tempo offense...
That's how I understood Lazor's comments. Which comes as a surprise because Tannehill has been pretty good in two minute drills throughout his career. So I watched the first drive of the first preseason game against the Falcons again and there was no play starting with less than 12 seconds on the play clock. We were playing a lot faster in preseason than we are right now. I don't understand why this is.

Sensed a lot of indifference in players if Tannehill remains QB or not. Some are worried about "grass is greener" idea. Is Moore better?
@AbramsonPBP

Moore is underrated. He is better than Henne and definitely better than this years Tannehill.... Such a ****ing shame. I hoped we found our star. I guess time to draft his replacement in next year or 2016 draft. Time to cut your losses like Jax did with that guy that I forgot his name. Pretty boy Gabbart?

So it starts. Although I don't think Moore will take over yet I feel like Moore will get a shot before the seasons over
that not good thing that mean we are at square one again... he will not be top ten but at time look good. 17 or 7 henne. he is good enough be in nfl

Joe Philbin is a JOKE!!!!!! This guy really does stink as a HC! Instead of benching Tannehill (which would be a mistake imo), I would roll with him sink or swim. Fire Joe (sooner the better, I've seen enough of this ass hat on the sidelines and in his press conferences). Fellas, I've been a fan since the 80's and I want nothing more than to have this team relevant each and every year. Our woes begin at the top fellas. From ownership to HC ...we have missed on all aspects of getting it right. I'm not going to sit here and insult those of you who know who the good teams are. We simply are not one of them. We have some great players like Wake and Grimes who can make those big plays when needed but it comes down to the 11 guys on the field. I put this entire fiasco solely on the shoulders of those in charge for hiring and keeping these incompetent morons who in turn make us the laughing stock of the league since 2000. I am beyond frustrated fellas! I have to buy the NFL ticket to watch this disaster each and every week... and as they do every year, they play that one game that gives you hope only to crush it (this year beating NE) leaving you confused and beyond frustrated to the point where losing almost becomes acceptable and normal. Hindsight is a bitch they say, we could have gotten it right so many times (FA, hirings, draft, etc)...not looking to complain and open old wounds, but man, we are either unlucky or it comes down to the people who make these decisions. I am going with the latter. FIRE JOE PHILBIN! How did this goof survive last years collapse?! Wipe the slate clean, start over because I would rather suck - absolutely suck for the next three years because I'm so used to losing than to endure another decade of this mediocrity year in and year out. Sorry, I had to vent!!!

Also, I happen to agree with this article...give it a look:

I just had a thought on an alternative interpretation of Lazor's quote "will I be the offensive coordinator Sunday?" Many interpreted that to mean 'of course he'll be the QB.' But an alternate interpretation could be 'if he deserves to be benched for a few bad games why am I getting off so easy?' I think that is likely how he meant it especially when paired with his next comment "we're all just renting these seats..."

And the cringe thing some took that too literal. He's not cringing at the idea that it's his offense and not Philbin's. He's cringing at the accusation that his offensive system is so rigid that he flat out refuses tailor it to Tannehill specifically. He's cringing at the idea that Tannehill should take all of the blame. He's cringing because its his job to design the perfect system for Tannehill, he believes there is one but he hasn't found it. He's cringing because to think otherwise would mean Tannehill is crap that can't run any system.
