The Sun-Sentinel's Omar Kelly announced on WQAM's Michael Irvin show that Dolphins DE Philip Merling is on the trade block. Kelly says that any team with quality second string TE can have Merling.

Three teams immediately come to mind Packers, Seahawks, Cowboys.

i think TE is one of our big needs on O. I still have faith in Henne and Fasono hands is the issue too many through the hands and the d picks it off

My question is what TYPE of TE are they looking for?? The options were there during FA when there were athletic TE and we didn't show interest, which I believed we should have because this offense NEEDS a TE that can stretch the seems.

I just hope it's not another blocking type TE.

So seahawks got carlson to give up. Merling and a late pick for carlson. Get it done!

Merling is good, but obviously with the depth, he's expendable. I'd love to get John Carlson in here.

You got Bennet in Dallas, who I believe Ireland might have drafted and in Green Bay you Finley, Quarles, Crabtree, Havner, DJ Williams & Ryan Taylor

We might get a 7th depending on his contract. Almost no production and off the field troubles will more than likely mean he gets cut.

Merling is terrible, and he's lazy... among other things.

I'll be suprised if Miami can get a quality TE straight up in a trade for Merling, but I'd love to see if Baltimore would be willing to trade Ed Dickson. I'd also like to see the Jets cut Jeff Cumberland and Miami scoop him up. That's a guy Jeff Ireland needs to keep an eye on...

Greenbay has Quarrless who performed pretty well last year, and if I recall is very athletic. They have Finley coming back, and also just drafted DJ Williams this year
