Phillip Rivers

Are you trying to be funny or serious? Rivers just tore up the STEELERS defense, one of the best in the league besides SD's and Baltimore's.

If not for some dropped passes, it would have been uglier.

Rivers made some SWEET throws!! Big Ben looked like the 1st year starter out there...

Seriously funny....j/p. I would still take Rivers for a 1st.

After some earlier struggles, Rivers made the steelers defense look average...I would take him right now for a 1st and Cpep.

Alot of people wanted to trade a 1st for this guy before the Chargers got rid of Brees. Still want him?

You don't want him?

I wanted him 3 years ago. Its too bad he shot up draft boards because he was originally projected to go to us.

PR's pocket presence just amazes me more and more....and I'm saying this out of respect to #13...but I haven't seen a QB since P.Rivers release as fast as #13, but he sure is close.

When he loads and then BOOOM out....it's a thing of beauty---reminds me of Dan.

outside of the arm strength, i thought coming out thats who rivers reminded me of so much.

PR was my favorite player in college history. I was the biggest fan of him coming out, wanted to sell the draft for him (not really, but damn close). He's a real stand up guy, SMART kid, INSANELY accurate, Lightening quick release and more than adequate arm strength. i remember his gatorbowl game, he gunned a ball between 2 defenders and that was the talk of the week. Analysts were saying htere was only a handful of NFL QB's who had the arm strength for that throw. He doesn't go deep often, but when he does, it gets there quick, and accurate. Great player, wish we'd had a shot at him.

It's amazing how QUICK his release it, really its lightning quick (no pun intended).

By no means does he have Marino's arm strength (since that comes around very rare) but what's surprised me more about Rivers is his arm strength. The ball (velocity wise) is getting to the WR's.

Hopefully he can be mentioned in the same sentence as Marino (except the lack of SB of course).

I've also noticed Rivers throwing motion has somewhat changed--some people say he throws sidearm---but it's changed to more straight up/back...check out his videos here:

Youtube is down.

This is part of why we need to draft a QB insted of trying to make due with everyone else's trash. A good QB in the draft comes anywhere near us we have to take it. Dosen't have to be in the 1st round but as long as we get a guy for the future that isn't hurt i'll be happy.

I don't know..i just don't know. I feel BPA this year, I expect a high draft pick, which means a high price tag, which means you NEED to get a player that will play. I'm not hacking on Allen, but I'm really starting to get nervous, we'll see in years to come, but not boding incredibly well.

that means if Jackson there, I would strongly consider taking him, If Smith? is there, consider taking him. At that point in the draft you don't take a need, you take a playmaker. They can elevate your team, and you pay the pricetag anyway.

We need to get some talent on the O-line but we also need some talent on the defense as well. I just think that we need to find a permanent starter at QB before we do anything.
