Wheeler, who missed the season-opener while nursing a thumb injury, has been limited in practice this week because of that injury but the team has been encouraged by his improvement day to day.

The chances of Wheeler being available are apparently so good the Dolphins are debating whether to list him as probable.

Wheeler's availability improved dramatically because a bulbous cast that covered his entire right hand that he's been wearing was switched to a more manageable cast that exposes the tips of his fingers and allows him to grab potential ball carriers.

So Wheeler could find himself in the lineup.

Great, right. And the bad news?

I reported on Thursday morning that Wheeler was out for the game, per a source. I doubled back with that source Thursday evening and was told, "Things change. I guess I was wrong."

No.

I was wrong. Apologies.

I guess this is good new. We do need the bodies at linebacker.

Good news, as long as he isn't starting. He can backup our backups. (hopefully all season)

I'm not a fan but at this point another healthy body is good to have ... i guess :idk:

For the moment, and perhaps until Tripp, Jordan and Jones return it is a necessary to have Wheeler back. If nothing else but to give our "new" starters a breather. It will be very important for our offense to manage the game-time battle; long drives to rest our defense. I do think our linebackers can play an effective game if they aren't on the field constantly.

As much as folks dislike Wheeler. We need fresh legs people. Wishing him gone at this juncture is retarded.

That's what i'm thinking. Trusnik said he played 90 plays Sunday.

Bad news wheeler already has tackling issues and with a messed up thumb will be harder to finish tackles..

Well at least Buffalo will have trouble game planning for linebackers. It's a scrambled mess right now.

I'd much rather have Misi back but it is what it is.

We definitely needed another body that's for sure. About the only time I've ever wanted him to be around. I feel funky about it. LOL
