I am also a Philadelphia Eagles fan (i know i know) and I spend some time at their boards along with some other boards.

A) One of the features that some other boards use that I like is they have a couple of "informational" stickies at the top of some boards. For example, during the time immediately after the draft, they had a sticky on each player drafted with scouting reports on that player where people could talk about the player in one thread, instead of the 80 threads we have on the main board that constantly need to be merged. The average poster only looks on the first page and if they dont see "Marcus Vick" in the first 5 posts, they make another thread. Creating a sticky about him at the top of the page would eliminate 15% of the clutter on the main board into one thread and hopefully save you guys some time in mergeing identical threads.

B) Another thing they do is they have informational threads and articles about the offense and defense that the average fan doesnt know. Saban's defense is very different from Wanny's defense and I see a lot of people on the main boards confusing things from Wanny's defense with Saban's defense. It would be a good educational thing for the average fan to be able to READ ONLY the nomenclature for our defense and how the basics work in our defense. CVass wrote a great post in flippers finest and the basics about the defense in that post should really be stickied on the main board. A lot of fans dont head into flippers finest and a FAQ about how our defense works should really be something advertised that the average fan could read and learn something from. Also, during the draft, it became apparent that the average fan on here doesnt know the difference between a DT and a NT. I had to type the same thing over and over and over and over again. And just this week it became apparent that a handful of people dont completely understand the nomenclature of our linebackers and our secondary.

C) Other stickies they have are future breakdowns of players contracts. We have a very good salary cap page but during the season here people make predictions for the future and who we think are going to be cut in the offseason when a lot of the times they have no idea how their contract is structured or if its a good salary cap move. They dont know where roster bonuses are and what years peoples contract starts escalating. A sticky on top of the salary cap page with all our existing players and their basic contract breakdown for the duration of their contract would also be helpful for the average fan.

--Just a few suggestions that I see and like on some other boards that I think would be helpful in here that would be simple ways of educating our fanbase a little more.

Such an humanitarian!

We'll look into your advice but, remember the old cliche, 'You can lead a horse to water....
