More is less. Tannhill is a capable solid NFL QB but u need to know what u have in him. He cant carry a franchise. We need to do what they do in Minnesota with teddy but not to such a drastic extent. Tannehill can make all the nfl throws unlike teddy who has a noodle arm so they have to hide him behind AP and a strong defense. But we can win with this kid just dont ask him to throw it from his own endzone every game and play TEAM football. Sunday was the perfect example of TEAM football something tannehill rarely ever seem to get. Jones int setsup playaction TD pass which is setup by a strong run game so the defense buys the fake=TEAM ball.

I was told last year that Bridgewater had a better arm/deep ball than Tannehill did. That's changed I guess?

Just run a balanced offense.... And take this crap with a grain of salt. Most likely he's throwing more because they are already far behind. I mean I'm a stats guy but this is just stupid.

Run the ball, don't ask your QB to do much and try and win close games with FGs. Wasnt that the last regimes formula? :fistpump:

I watch a lot of Vikings games. He seems to throw the ball slower than anyone I remember seeing.

Luck is 17-16 throwing over 35 times, Russell Wilson is 2-2 throwing over 35 times.

I see this stat a lot with a lot of qbs.
One thing to keep in mind, teams obviously throw more when behind. So the losing team playing catch up will have more passing attempts in general.

Throws more when we're losing to attempt to catch up. Pretty simple.

There are very few quarterbacks whose teams will win if they throw more than 35 times a game.

Aaron Rodgers is 1-3 when throwing more than 35 times, and 7-1 when throwing 35 or fewer times.
Carson Palmer is 4-2 when throwing more than 35 times, and is 6-0 when throwing 35 or fewer times
Ben Roethlisberger is 2-3 when throwing more than 35 times, and 3-0 when throwing 35 or fewer times

The key to success, with just about any offense, is balance. Run it as much as you throw. Mix it up. Adapt to what's in front of you.

I'm still baffled by the assumption by the Bill Lazor/Chip Kelly offense that "there will be a mismatch somewhere, no matter how you line up."
How the **** is that an offensive philosophy? That's an absurdly arrogant way of looking at matchups.

Those statistics do not tell us anything. This could simply mean that we are down and have to throw more in a losing effort. We will Need better statistical analysis to determine the reason why we lose when he throws that many times is actually his fault.

For everyone talking about throwing more when behind yada yada I guess you've missed the countless examples over the last four years where we have been ahead and instead of running to kill the clock we continue to pass and give teams enough chances to stay in the game.......
