As best I can sort out between OTC and Sportrack, we are now roughly $17M under the cap. Fields discount is from $3.9M to $2.5M, and Clay's $7M tag is credited back.

Wheeler's Jue1 deal wll pretty much cover the draft, and teams normally like to keep around $5 going into e season to cover injuries.

So, I'm figuring we have $12M to spend.

For the record I am still unsigned. At 5-9, 280 lbs, I can run the 40 in under 4 flat (4 minutes that is). Not having a true position, but I am very coachable, and at 47 yrs of age I would be willing to sign for league minimum.

How are your long snapping abilities?

Do you do yard work ?

we have 17 million now. After June 1st we will have 20 million.

SoBe is taking that 3 million from June 1st and considering it draft funds... so 17M, factoring in the 5M that teams usually hold onto, thats 12M. He is right on the money.

It's pathetic when you think that wheelers cap savings covers possible multiple productive players. Thanks ireland

Yeah, we took HUGE dead money hits (over $20M), and are still sitting in VG shape. Those hits had to be taken and I applaud the team for taking them now, as opposed to dealing with them in the near future.

Job well done by the FO.

Based on what is now available KT, I would stay by the phone. :)

Yep, Armando Salguero said we had $10.1 million with Clay, but now we can add $7M to that. $17M can get us another quality FA before draft time.

They should call Chip Kelly back and try to get a deal worked out for Evan Mathis. If we sign Crabtree and Mathis before the draft, we should be in OK shape. Would still need to target a MLB, WR, S and CB in the draft. I would be OK with grabbing a mid round corner and re-signing Delmas to a 1 year deal.

Well, as long as Mondo agrees, I feel much better on my post. LOL

Can't see that happening Rob. The $12M is not a lot when you are dealing with one year or short term contracts, and no one left is worth a long term deal..

We still need a CB, S, MLB, WR, QB, OL, and maybe a RB to go into the draft with an open mind. That's, by far, no easy task considering who is out there. Maybe, the late cuts will be better. Hard to imagine them being worse.

I also wonder if we may be looking for more space from a Pouncey deal or a re-do on Wake, the ULTIMATE team player if need be.

One funny note. Shelby, with his $2.3M deal, is making about $1M more than OV this year. It's the way of the NFL.

I really wish we'd get a guard in free agency. The market is drying.up fast. We can't fill every hole with the draft. We really need Turner to become a solid starter and Taylor to become at least a solid nickel

Ozzy rules!!
