I should have added this in my other DE thread but, did not have the time. If the mods would like to merge the two, I would merge the first one under this one, as there is much more info.

Vernon played 929 snaps, 375 vs the run with a grade of +1.9, 23 in cover grade of +1.5, and 531 in pass rush grade of -7.5, with 11 sacks, 5 hit, and 32 hurries.

Wake played 694 snaps, 252 vs the run with a grade of -0.2, 25 in cover grade of -2.5, and 419 in pass rush grade of +27.7, with 10 sacks, 20 hits, and 41 hurries.

Shelby played 446 snaps, 243 vs the run with a grade of +5.2, 13 in cover grade of -1.5, and 190 in pass rush grade of -5.4, with 3 sacks, 3 hits, and 7 hurries.

Jordan played 339 snaps, 87 vs the run with a grade of -0.5, 46 in cover grade of +2.0, and 206 in pass rush grade of -1.8, with 2 sacks, 4 hits, and 18 hurries.

As I said in the other thread, I was wondering how we will split up the snaps this year, assuming that Philbin and Coyle want to get Jordan n the field more.

Cameron Wake played hurt last year but I dont think its hard to make the argument that hes the best pure pass rusher in the game. He is an absolute monster.

Also, Dion needs to about triple his snap count this year. That is all

Jordan was good in coverage, and I am hoping that Coyle uses him more at OLB, where he can cover TE's (a HUGE problem for us), and be able to blitz as well.

Honestly ill take any of the two of them on the field at any time. Would like to see Jordan in there more but if Vernon keeps playing the way he played last year i wouldn't mind seeing him play 900 snaps again. I could see Jordan coming in to spell Wake instead of Shelby at times. Jordan wont play regular but i could see him getting his snaps doubled.

I dont see Jordan playing any OLB but i do see him in that hybrid type position on passing situations to cover the TE if he releases or jump into the pass rush if he stays home.

Jordan can cover top TEs and can drop back in zone blitzes. Also can move him aorund to OLB to blitz or cover. He can do lots of stuff for you. Double his snap counts or else. He should be starting instead of Wheeler of you cant find a starting MLB to move Ellerbe to Wheelers position.

Look at those hurries.. I remember vernon getting owned in the first few games.

How many actual times did he really drop into coverage Im wondering. I keep hearing this but he only played 25 percent of the snaps so that would be an interesting stat to actually know. He didn't start because teams run the ball and he was bad against the run the coaches said that exactly

If you read the OP you woud see it was 46 snaps in cover with a 2.0 grade, which is good.

Agreed, look at the total pressures he put on vs V in 100 fewer pass rushes. The year before was one of the best performance ever by a DE.

It's really a shame we have been a mediocre team the past few years. He deserves alot more recognition. DPOY candidate every year type of player

FYI, in 2012 Wake was off the charts with a grade almost double any other DE, a 10.4 vs the run, 0 penalties, 17 sack, 23 hits, and 46 hurries on 558 pass rushes.
