We may have a deeper problem then just the GM and coach. The owner apparently didn't want to spend money for higher end TE's and tackles.

This is far worse than just the GM and Coach. In the past we had owners who had no problem spending money; $8million below cap.

The owner may be a bigger problem; it will cause Class A coaches to stay away.

Hope this article wasn't right.

I always said Ross sucked as an owner. He is wayne part II. You cannot be a "fan" and be a capable owner in the NFL. There is little time to learn the business and he is just someone with a ton of money that saw Miami as a way to make money regardless of the overall product. Ross has no clue what the **** he is doing and he is going to continue to tarnish this franchise. If this is true, there is so much wrong with this franchise and we are in deep crap...

While Miami tanks this year and his season ticket holders threaten to keep canceling, he will have no recourse but to hire a big name coach like Gruden or Cowher. You can bank on that. The guy has no football sense at all.

well with tackle I can understand as we all thought we were coming in with Vernon Carey and Jake Long (who both have big contracts) as our OTs.

BUT there is no article like that on the herald's website

nevermind didn't see it first time

Since the team spent a lot of money for minimal return the past few years I am not surprised they pulled the reigns back this shorten offseason. I don't think this will be an issue for the next regime.

As for Ireland I think he does have a decent chance of being retained.

He probably just didn't want these clowns wasting anymore of his money. Don't blame him at all.

I don't know why Ross would not wanna spend money? He has always said publicly that he does not interfere with football relations.

Haha yeah, because people never say one thing and then do another. We're gonna close Guantanamo Bay, folks!

So we could spend big on Kevin Burnett, but not a tight end?

I'm calling bs on this.....

So your telling me Ross hands Brandon Marshall & Karlos Dansby over $100 mil in one off-season alone, but he's suddenly unwilling to spill $20-30 m ill

It could be that he didn't want to give Sparano/Ireland any more money to waste?

And I don't think that's even any better because WHY WOULD YOU KEEP THIS GUY AROUND IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO CAN HIM.

Sparano, Ireland.. these are minor things that can be replaced relatively easily. Now if Ross is as terrible and incompetent as early signs suggest he is, then we as a franchise and fanbase have a very, very serious problem. Not that I believe Mando in this case or any case actually.
