A bunch of notes on a Wednesday night:### In our last post, we mentioned some of the receivers that the Dolphins have asked to visit team headquarters in Davie. This morning, we confirmed a fourth: UCF receiver Breshad Perriman. My understanding is that the Dolphins like Perriman and will consider him, Louisville’s DeVante Parker, and several other players, with the 14th pick of the draft.Receivers Amari Cooper (Alabama) and Kevin White (West Virginia) obviously would warrant consideration if either slips to 14, which isn’t expected.A few cornerbacks and a linebacker or two will also warrant consideration at 14. LSU offensive tackle La’El Collins also is a possibility; if Miami drafted him, he would move to guard.Perriman ran a 4.25 in the 40 at UCF’s Pro Day last week, and his stock has risen. NFL Network’s Mike Mayock told me that drafting Perriman at 14 would be completely justified.Perriman averaged 20.9 yards per catch last season, with 50 for 1044, and nine touchdowns. He had some dropped passes at UCF, but his speed, size (6-2) and skill set are tantalizing.### If the Dolphins wait until the 47th pick, UM’s Phillip Dorsett very well could be off the board. Mayock said he sees him as a late first or early-to-mid second round pick.“If I’m there [at 47], I hope they do take me because they’re not going to at 14,” Dorsett said. “I was a Dolphins fan growing up. Playing for the Dolphins would be a dream come true.”### Here was Mayock’s assessment, some of which he shared with me when I spoke to him after UM’s Pro Day and some of which aired on NFL Network’s Path to The Draft tonight:“Love Dorsett today. Typically when a guy has a big performance at the Combine, they rest on those numbers. So I was really surprised he was going to do a full workout. He did a 4.25 on my [stopwatch]. The fact he did everything he did today when he didn’t have to was amazing. He really helped himself. At the end of the day, as good a receiver class is, he could be a late one. He’s a phenomenal player.“I watched Ereck Flowers go through positional drills. He’s so raw and so young but he’s so gifted. He’s big, he’s long, great feet. He’s a potential Pro Bowl right tackle. A lot of technique he will have to clean up. He will go somewhere in the first round.“Perryman ran a 4.68 before he pulled his hamstring. He’s a very active linebacker. I think he will go in the second or third round. Some questions about whether he can cover people.“Duke Johnson dropped his 40 a tenth. A solid second round pick.”### Four NFL head coaches were in attendance: Joe Philbin, Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin and Todd Bowles. Payton and Saints officials dined with Denzel Perryman, Clive Walford and Phillip Dorsett on Tuesday night.... All 32 teams were represented today... Dolphins GM Dennis Hickey praised UM's talent level.### Denzel Perryman, by the way, said he has gotten a “great feeling from the Dolphins” and was told they really like him. He could be a possibility at pick 47.### This is the one day of the year when UM and Dolphins people publicly interact. Dolphins offensive coordinator Bill Lazor had a long talk with Al Golden, and UM offensive coordinator James Coley had a long talk with Hickey.

I don't believe Perriman the WR is worth a 1st. This might be the first I've heard of him being thought of in the 1st

Dorsett a Miami Dolphins fan. I Would take if he is there in the second or we could trad down and get him.

For the past 3 weeks he's been hyped as a first rounder. Not that he deserves it

perriman = stephen hill. i still want justin hardy out of ecu. hes not a burner but he has landrys hands on the outside, ran the spread offense like we run back when he was in college, not going over the top of anyone but thats what we have stills and cameron for to take the pressure off the possesion wr's.

I think our interest in perriman is evidence that we are going to attempt to trade down in the first. That being said, if hickey has conviction he'd take him regardless. Just like james last year.

As a ucf fan I wouldn't take him in the 1st. He's a 3rd round catcher with 1st round straight line speed.

That said, I am still amazed at his hail Mary catch from last year that I didn't see til the next day when I turned the game off after 4th down. That's more on ecu than anything.

I love the tools with Perriman but if you want polish I'm not sure that's the way to go. Honestly he reminds me of a faster/quicker but less physical Sammie Coates. Both drop way too many balls...both are physical freaks. Perriman is a slightly better route runner...but both need work in that regard...too many false steps and technical issues coming out of breaks to really utilize their true explosiveness.

If we miss out on the big 3 WRs (White, Cooper, & Parker), I hope we can trade down and pick up another mid round pick (a 3rd or 4th round). If we can't find a suitable trade partner, then I would be happy drafting...G La'el Collins, CBs Trae Waynes or Jalen Collins, or DTs Danny Shelton, Malcom Brown, or Arik Armstead. BUT no way would I be happy drafting Breshad Perriman in the first or second round.
