IF Miami is very lucky, we could get two starters out of the 2014 draft. We are possibly losing nine starters in FA. So, the draft is not gonna be close to as important as FA. Something to think about.

Sobe, where are you getting 9 from?

Starks
Soliai
Clemons
Grimes
Jerry
Clabo
McKinnie

If you wanted to stretch it you could throw in Carroll as he started a lot of the season for an injured Patterson.

And if you really wanted to stretch it you could throw in Incognito, but he's been gone so long I don't even consider him.

I see seven what I would consider starters hitting free agency. I would guess one of Starks or Soliai would be resigned. Grimes will be signed or franchised I would imagine and I am confident Carroll will be back. That's three out of seven I see back for sure. I wonder if they will try and resign Clabo or McKinnie for another year as a stop gag but look for them to get a FA outside of either of those twoto fill at least one of those tackle spots. Jerry just needs to go, can't be too hard to find a guard in the draft or FA to fill his spot.

I do agree the draft is going to be very important, but I think they will also bring in at least three offensive linemen in from free agency not including anyone that was on the roster in 2013.

That's not entirely true. You have to consider which FAs leave before you can decide that. If you were able to keep Grimes and Starks only, there'd only be a couple starting spots to fill, d line, safety, and o line. You can certainly get starters at all three positions in the first 4 rounds of this draft.

And who are our starters at OLG and 2nd QB? Yes, I did include them. There are nine holes to be filled. The draft may fill two, and I have no idea of what I'm looking for until after FA.

Not true, and there is no way we are getting 3 starters in this draft unless GOD is our new GM. :)

I disagree. A draft like Zack Martin, Jernigan, Dion Bailey would offer three starters in three rounds. Those are entirely reasonable picks, all at positions Miami needs especially if they let guys leave.

Any idea how many starters we got for that year in past drafts?

Are you suggesting that the players success of past years will effect player success this year? Because one doesn't really have anything to do with the other. Last year there was one, Sturgis. The year before got 3. Now there's new OC, there will be a new GM, that alone distinguishes this draft from the last 2.

In 2012, we got Tannehill, Martin, and that was it for that year, with Martin not ready to start. Who else did you include that year?

Vernon. But now we're starting to discuss minutia that's not particularly relevant. The long and short of it is what happened in past years has nothing to do with this draft, and it wouldn't be too hard to draft starters. You suggest it would take divine intervention to do so when this draft is deep enough it wouldn't be that hard, especially if we let spots open through free agency.

We should sign our key free agents Sola I Starks and Grimes and possibly Clemmons.
Next we should trade Matt Moore and promote Devlin and draft another QB
We should target 2 free agent line men and draft 2as well.
Our first pick should be tight end Hebron or best player available

Why would you say "Lucky" to get two starters? That would be a worse result than two of the last three Ireland drafts.
If two is "Lucky", what is the average you expect?
