that solid ALL AROUND FOOTBALL and a SOLID DEFENSE wins championships.

2 times now!!

if the giants didnt hold brady to 17 points they would have no shot at winning this game. the defense stopped the crap quick.

dont tell me anymore about these stupid 2 tight end powerhouse sets etc. . . the giants have 2 solid WRs a solid tight end much like fasano, a bush/thomas type rb tandem (yes i understand bush and thomas are not on bradshaw/jacobs level YET but they can be)

what we need is a solid QB and 1 more strong WR and we are ready to compete in the afc east. i hope philbin installs some kind of hard nosed Defense too that gets pressure.

priorties should be - QB, Tackle, Pass rusher. stop crying about Wr's, TE's , RBs and other b.s. the teams that win so often giants, steelers etc win with strong defense, strong qb (under pressure) solid running game and offensive line, and running game.

NFL has changed but not by much.

The Giants defense was not very good this season. 25th in points allowed, 27th in yards allowed. Their offense, on the other hand, was top ten in both categories. The 2007 Giants and 2011 Giants, according to the numbers I looked at earlier this evening, had the 2 worst statistical defenses to win a championship in NFL history.

Tonight's game says a lot more about how Tom Brady plays against a strong pass rush when his midget receivers drop a couple of passes than it does about the quality of the Giants defense, which was downright putrid for much of the season.

When we kept the pressure on Brady the first half during the second game this season we were clearly the better football team all around. Then come the second half we stopped pressuring Brady and he tore us a new one.

We also went into our patented prevent offense in the second half. I hated Parcells for that and Sparano just always failed to keep his foot on the throat of our opponents.

The Giants defense is solid. and it was down the stretch esp with everyone healthy. the giants have a strong defense that rushes the passer and stops the run well. regardless of their performance all season, (hmmm bad defense, average record all season) it turned on at the right time and won them a super bowl. people will grasp at anything to cling to their theories. 3/4 of the final 4 were strong defensive teams, and the super bowl winner had a SOLID defense which beat a great and innovative offense, of course the giants also have an elite QB, and im not denying a QB is important, but stop with the TE, RB, "its all about offense" changed league crap is all im saying.

Tom Brady is a great QB, but I don't think he'd be nearly as great if teams stopped playing that soft zone **** against him all the time. Every time he starts getting smacked around, he makes bad mistakes and looks like a totally different guy. Considering that we are fans of the team that caused him to get BENCHED for poor play after pounding him like a palomilla steak, we should know this better than anybody.

i agree with you. the only way to beat brady is to hit him, no one does it better than the Giants.

We did a dam pretty good job the first half in the second game, then stopped and as said, gave him that soft zone and he sliced and diced us.

Yup, you look at these teams like the Saints, Packers, Lions, and Patriots, and they are built to do just one thing, and that's throw the ball until the QB's arm falls off. If I'm a team in the AFC East that's playing Brady twice, I tell my guys to hit him every time they got a shot, even if it's 15 yards. You hit him until he doesn't get up.

If the NFL wants to keep changing rules to 'make the game more exciting' to the point that you've got schlubs like Matthew Stafford throwing for 5,000 yards as a matter of course, then **** it, you take a few penalties and force Brian Hoyer to beat you.

There's nothing worse on this earth than watching Tom Brady throw those ****ty dink five yard passes on the outside to his midget WRs/RBs and then 'mix it up' by throwing dink eight yard passes on the inside to his 6'8" tight ends. I'd rather watch three yards and a cloud, at least guys are hitting each other.

i like the Giants. i have an Eli authentic calling my name.

but when its phins-giants im all phins. always have been.

i cant STAND the Jets, but the giants hype i can take. they have done alot of good things, esp ending perfect seasons by the broncos and pats, and giants fans seem to like us, due to the jets b.s. so i have nothing against them.

im with you.

ELI=ELIte. They still need an Elite QB. And their defense was sketchy at times one reason they were 9-7. But, they turned it on in the playoffs and Eli led them.

BTW, they were the worst rushing team in the NFL. Manning's are good at making up for that. Imagine a Manning with a pretty good rushing game? :hump:

But yes, we have a top 15 defense that needs a better pass rush, but first and foremost, a top QB.
