The Dolphins have reached out to free agent OL Barry Sims "more than once," according to the Palm Beach Post.

He could be a stopgap if Miami passes on a left tackle with the No. 1 pick and takes one later on. The Dolphins' tackle situation is currently a mess.

Barry Sims? wow. not getting excited by that pickup possibility unless he's strictly a backup

I got this from wikipedia

For the 2007 season, Sims replaced Robert Gallery as the starter at left tackle. He is infamously known by raiders fans as a "false-start machine," even jumping offsides in his team's own stadium, often at crucial times during the game. It is believed that he is too slow to protect against most of the NFL's rushing defensive ends, and that this is a reason for him jumping offsides so often as well as committing numerous holding penalties. As of week 12, Sims is the most penalized player in the NFL. On February 29, 2008 Sims was released by the Oakland Raiders :shakeno:

No way bring back richmond webb out of retirement if thats the case.:winkwink:

If the phins sign RT Anthony Clement and leave Carey at LT is Chris long the #1 pick?
your thoughts

If Dolphins sign Barry Sims it is not to be our LT of future. It would be for depth. It would be to have insurance for 1 year if whatever rookie we draft is not ready to start week 1. Don't think it would affect Dolphins decision to draft Jake Long or not. If Dolphins go Chris Long instead (only 2 choices IMO) it will be because they believe Chris Long is better player and fact that this draft is unusually deep in Left Tackle prospects. One should still be available with our first 2nd round pick.

I wouldn't mind Sims at LG.

No. If Jake Long is "not" the pick, it is because MIA chose to go with Matt Ryan. Chris Long is not in MIA's plans. Didnt FA give u the insight by MIA going hard for C Pace and signing Torbor, Anderson, and are interested in Blaylock?
