Reggie Torbor-LB- Giants Feb. 28 - 10:00 am et

The Dolphins have reportedly been inquiring about free agent LB Reggie Torbor.

Torbor never emerged as more than a capable sub and special teamer with the Giants, but at 6'2/250, has the size Bill Parcells looks for at linebacker.

He certainly has the size anyone know anything else about him?:hi5:

he might play a decnt ILB in the 3-4 he played at auburn he had a goo rookie year were his potential loookd high but his play fell off

Sorry, I guess the connections werent obvious enough. He is a WINNER, and our staff knows the division.

I'd say he's more of a filler type guy. glad to hear he can play special teams. plenty of room for improvement in that regard.

Talked with a Giants friend of mine. Just a good guy to have on the team, very solid on ST's, has good size and athletic ability, can step into a starting role and play respectable when needed. Don't think we're looking at him for a starting MLB job, but he definitely would be a good addition to the team.

Also can't have enough winners right? Guy's a Superbowl Champ.

Team does need to replenish on Special Teams.

RandyCam brutally massacred the special teams which was stupid when you draft Ginn high.

Torbor would be a nice pickup. I see alot of Giant games, he is a good special team player and steps in and plays a nice LB when needed. He is an upgrade over Spragan.

He could be a fall back type of player to come in and start if we don't get the guys we really want in either FA or the draft for the MLB spot. Crowder is not a certainty and that leaves us with not much else...He could be the starter, IMO, if we can shore up the DL in FA or trade.

If we were to pick up Rogers and say Pace, coupled with the guys we have, that would shore up the outside and DL (assuming Roth/Wright can be the inside guys with Rogers). Moving JPeezy and Crowder/Torbor inside could hold us until another offseason...

I mentioned this as a possibility several weeks ago. Ireland and Parcells liked him a lot when he was coming out of the draft. They had a trade worked out to move up to draft him, but the Giants took him with the first pick of the 2nd day of the draft.
