We moved a lot of players cutting a bunch of money but, not much production from last year. On paper, I do not think we are any worse overall, and maybe a little better so far. Last year, we were in the playoff hunt until the Albert injury, along with MANY others.

IF we can keep players on the field, improve from within (very likely), and fill two needs in the draft, I give us a very fair shot at finally playing more than 16 games.

I think we definitely have a shot at the playoffs. The division runs through NE, and with the recent developments I'd say we match up pretty favorably against the cheaters.

With Tannehill at QB we will make the playoffs. Get him some help around him. A guard and a WR still

Too early to call. If you base it off of this roster as it stands we're lucky to make it to 6 wins. If one of the Guards (of which we have 3) gets hurt or doesn't pan out like they hoped we're screwed. If Albert gets hurt again, we're screwed. If one of the linebackers go down we're screwed (we have 5 which isn't even enough for special teams), if we lose a CB (highly likely with Jamar Taylor and Will Davis) we're screwed and we only have 4 on the roster. If Delmas gets hurt again (highly likely) we screwed unless Walt Aikens has matured and is ready to take his job serious, in that case you can move Jones over to SS and Aikens in at FS...or Michael Thomas I suppose but that's a big drop off. When Jordan Cameron gets hurt we lose our red zone threat.

Basically this team is paper thin right now. Not built for the 16 games of a regular season. Let's see where we're at in June.

I want playoff wins, but...

What will likely happen is players will regress, coaching will suck, any gains we make will be nullified by ineptitude and or injury at the worst time.

Its the Dolphin way by this point.

At this point, its been a rebuild. A "rebuild on the fly", but a rebuild, nonetheless. I think the playoffs are possible, but improbable. In all fairness, we should all wait until after the draft to see what the finished product looks like heading into minicamp.

The 2016 Miami Dolphins will be a playoff team.

Same coaches as last year who had us in the playoff mix until the injuries.

Did we forget that Albert's injury caused James to go to LT where he was bad, and Dallas to RT where he was horrible?

Pouncey being bad at OG?

Our CB coming down to Lowell Rose and RJ Stanford?

Safety coming down to Wilson, with Delmas, Thomas and Aikens out?

Grimes and Starks having bad years, for them?

Tannehill adapting to a new O?

Add in Clay's knee and even Colledge's migraines if ya like.

Add in the suspensions of Jones and Jordan, if ya like.

Yeah, it was all on the coaching. :)

No matter who we draft, we will not know what impact they bring or do not bring until they play vs NFL talent. From what I see, we surprise many with a playoff appearance. It is not far fetched.

Injuries are part of the game but, what we had last year is not the norm.

This is true, but IMO, a failure to address certain positions (whether it be in the draft or the remainder of free agency) would make a playoff run more difficult. G, LB, and CB are a few positions that come to mind. There are a lot of holes on this team and little depth. We MIGHT be OK at corner IF Jamar Taylor can stay healthy an entire season. That is a big if. G and LB absolutely must be addressed or else we will have major problems down the stretch. WR is another position of concern, I would not be content in counting on Matt Hazel in a playoff run at this point.

I think we will be pleasantly surprised in some players that step up this year (possibly Billy Turner, Rishard Matthews, Dion Sims, Jamar Taylor, Chris McCain, Jordan Tripp, even Matt Hazel), but it is inevitable that some of these guys are going to let us down, as well. Factor in injuries that can occur at thin positions and it makes a playoff run improbable.

But like I said, with a few more additions at some thin positions, I might feel a little more confident going into the season. Regardless of if they pan out to be great players for us or not.

A lot of truth in here.
Suh limits depth at other positions.
Depth helps injuries.
With our track record developing, we are thin.

I'm with ya but, where is the downside in talent and potential from a year ago when we were looking pretty good until the injuries?

I think they can definitely make the playoffs, The D has to be better against the run. The addition of Suh should fix that.

The defense MUST improve its play on 3rd downs. Maybe it was the scheme or the plays called but they would play well in 1st and 2nd then allow basically ANY distance to be converted on 3rd and 4th down.

I think that was probably more due to Coyle's play calling than anything else, but we shall see...

Tannehill MUST be better in the 4th quarter and converting critical 3rd downs.
