Those of you who sleep on Matt Moore so hard, please explain what it is exactly that you dont like about him. Id really like to know.
Look, I want Peyton Manning too. But, thats Peyton Manning. Id want to sign him if I were any of about 24 teams right now. That is no disrespect to Matt Moore.
My problem is all of the people who suggest we MUST get some other FA QB or draft a QB, despite the fact that basically all of the FA QBs are hot garbage and none of the QBs available in the draft are all that promising(Luck is not considered available in my mind. He is a lock to go to the Colts).
What is so great about Flynn? How is he an upgrade to Matt Moore?
What do you see in Tannehill that is so promising? Would he even start in year 1?
Im not totally against the idea of drafting Tannehill. He looks like he has some skills. Our new OC has worked with him plenty. He may develope into a very good NFL QB. My problem is drafting a QB that high. Id do it if he were my starter right away.
Here's my deal. I always though Moore had potential. I thought he played well for us last season. He took a team that couldnt do anything with Henne(granted Henne is beyond horrible) and made them a pretty good offense.
Do you guys realize that our team was 2nd in the league behind Green Bay for total amount of "chunk" plays of 25 yards or more? We were. And most of those came after Henne was out of there.
Point is Matt Moore made our offense go last season and looked damn good doing it. We had our first 3 TD passing game in years.
From where I sit, Matt Moore is good enough to lead this team to the playoffs. Past that, Im certrainly not optimistic about him being the guy who can take us to a championship, but I certainly dont want to count him out. I dont know why so many of you arent excited about this guy leading our team. He is better than the garbage most teams roll out there behind center thats for sure.
Give Matt Moore a chance already. He is better than our options and better than all the other garbage we have had since 2000. An exciting season would be nice for a change. Of course Id rather be a true championship contender. But, guys like that arent available. Its so rare that Manning is available now. Half the time, even the #1 pick isnt guarenteeing you a shot at those type of QBs. They dont come out every season.
But, again, thats why when you have the top pick, one of those guys is available, and your franchise is starved for a QB..... YOU DRAFT THE QB!!!! Not a LT!
We couldve avoided this whole mess by doing that. Which debate would you rather be having? Is Ryan good enough to lead us to a championship or just the playoffs every year.....OR...... should we lose all of our games just to get back into the position we were in a few years ago and this time do the correct thing and take the QB(aka suck for Luck - blow for Barkley). You tell me which debate you would rather have. Were all debating whether or not to sign some bum like Flynn or draft Tannehill or try and go 2-14 on purpose. GET REAL!!! If we had drafted Matty Ice we would be debating if we are winning just 10 games or 13 and if we do win 13 can Ice actually come through for us in the playoffs this time. Id take that debate all day.
