:dolphins: i have thought about this for awhile and imo the phins should think about dealing the # 9 pick. one thing this team needs is young players and adding a extra draft pick maybe in the 2nd or 3rd rounds would be great.i think at the 9 pick u can get a lot of different players that r all great but none r really that slam dunk choice...i be happy with the phins drafting ginn but at 9 that is a reach to some degree...then u move on to okoye from l'ville, great player but does this need another dl when fred evansand manny and rod wright have not been given a fair shot...u can take hall there but im confident in daniels and will allen for now at cb plus jason allen might shift over to cb...u can take levi brown there, great pick not quite the sexy pick every 1 wants but it would help ,god knows the ol stinks..maybe jarrett or gaines adams r still there but what im getting at they r all great in there own right and most likely all of them can defintely help this team but who to pick out of these players for the 9 pick..such a hard decision i would say some 1 else get that headache and trade and move back to say anywhere from 15-20..i bet u get a extra pick wich in the end would help and maybe ricky is traded to for say 4th or 5th rd ..ever better ! this team has got to get young and better ..what better way of doing it then in the draft with your new coach and every 1 behind him all at the same time...

right with you on that ! collect maximum pick and take latter a solid LB and a solid center, we can improve our LT in FA (experience is a must at this position IMO).

Having another second would be wonderful. I think at least one good linebacker will slip that far, like a Pozlusky, Willis, Everett or Siler. There also should be very promising tackles there too, like Stanton, Ugoh and Free.

Question is, who would we trade down with is such an off year? Someone has really got to fall in love with a player that will be available at #9.

I understand what you are saying but you say there is no guarantee that we would get a for sure thing with our first pick and your right, but there is no guarantee what we would get with our 2nd or 3rd pick either. And as far as Ricky Williams i just don't believe that the Dolphins are going to trade Ricky for a 4th or 5th pick. The value just don't match up. We know pretty much what we get with Ricky, "IF" he is on his game as far as his pass problems I believe he understands what will happen the next time he fails a test. I also believe that Ricky needs money just like we all do. So I have faith that Ricky will do alright when he comes back to the Dolphins. You have got to believe that if Ricky didn't want to come back to the Dolphins then all he has to do is sit back during the Super Bowl game and puff away. then he will fail his next weekly test and football is over with for Ricky. I believe he wants to come back with the Dolphins and he will do good and we Dolfans will be very happy to have him back. Just my Opinion.

I really think some teams picking in the teens and below will be enamored by some of the potential players at our level. Baltimore wanting a Jarrett. Carolina wanting either of the receivers. Teams wanting Hall such as New Orleans. Teams seeking the potential of Okoye. I would love to see a midround 14, 15, or 16 trade up to us and we would still be able to pick up Levi Brown and/or someone we like.

One of those linebackers that everyone covets will be at our number two pick, I gaurantee it.

i think it'd be a great move. and i also think that Arron Sears will be around in the second round and i think he'll be just as good as the kid from Penn St. if brady quinn falls, the phones will be ringing off the hook.

Yeah, I agree about Quinn. But then again, I think we should ignore those phone calls and draft him ourselves if he slips to 9

Yes definitely, only take calls ONCE Quinn has been selected, if he gets to 6, we need to start calling. I hope he falls like Matt Leinart to the Cardinals.

I hope that the Rams or Panthers get anxious for whatever reason and want to move up.

Personally, I'd feel better about moving down and drafting Willis or Brown. Getting Spencer (DE/OLB Purdue), an OT (Ugoh/Staley/Free), & Kalil in the 2nd, would be too sweet.

Except for trading your pick is not that easily done. I agree that more picks would be better, but in order to trade somebody has to want what you can get at our spot. I don't think there is anybody that will be at #9 worth trading up for, unless Quinn, Thomas, Russell, or Johnson drop that far. Very unlikely to happen, but you never know.

I think it's a terrible move because essentially Peterson, Thomas, Johnson, and probably Jamaal Anderson (or Gaines Adams but not both necessarily) are guaranteed top 8 picks no matter what happens at this point. The other guys even if they are rated higher or lower have scenarios where they could drop to 9.

All it really takes based on what the draft looks like right now is the Redskins taking a defensive end after the Cardinals. Boom, ready or not here comes Branch.

i agree 100%

yup i think we should draft quinn if he's there, but if someone wants to overpay in players/picks for him, then the fins should pull the trigger

ex like lets say the packers want another qb {i doubt this just an example}

fins give them

9th overall pick

pack give

16th overall

there 2nd rounder

and robert ferguson....

just an example really.

It's possible sure that a team would want to do it. Try the Panthers though, that's a possibility.
