And that's the typical Green Bay West Coast offense. Go back to Mike Holmgren's staff in 1996. The monumental collection of coaching talent that fell off that tree has been pretty consistent in their philosophy about WRs. Every now and then they will have an elite WR1. But for the most part, it relies on disciplined WRs that run great routes and execute. They don't have "me" players at WR. They work as a unit.

Honestly, the WCO maximizes our existing talent at WR and helps us moving forward by devaluing the elusive WR1 that always comes with baggage. I'm kinda glad we have a bunch of WR2's in this system.

When we hired Philbin, I felt great. I wanted him as a caoch. And, at first, I wanted Flynn. But I am more interested in us getting a great QB that fits us. I don't care how we get him. I don't care if Matt Moore becomes him.

I just know that the QB is the single most important piece in this WCO. But not like Peyton Manning important. Now, it's more about everyone doing their job. And not just relying on one or two guys to carry the load.

Unless we get a great QB, most fans outside of Phinland won't be able to list most of our players by name. And honestly, the way we draft it's for the better. We are probably one of the most boring teams to watch on draft day. We are the "UnSexy".

yeah, they don't need a #1 Wr for this offense, except for the fact, they always had one when running it. And other WRs following that are worlds better than what we have too. Not to mention a better QB, elite TE....

We've been unsexy on draft day, the problem is, we are unsexy when the season ends too.

Jesus Christ I feel bad for Philbin I mean Manningham signed for two years 7.5 million but we sign Hicks to a 2 million contract and now we bring in another not ready for prime time player. Our offseason feels more like a UFL offseason than an NFL offseason

Just remember the most successful west cost ever run to date had Jerry Rice.

I agree completely about the QB and draft.

If I am not mistaken he came into the NFL as a TE..He was moved to WR in the ladder part of his San Diego run...He still has some upside....
You are mistaken. He was a WR in college

Ever think Philbin is the one that is telling Ireland the guys he wants?

Yea, he did play Tight end in San Diego.

Naanee was targeted by Norv Turner to become the next star for the Chargers to become his F-Back project, much like Delanie Walker and Michael Robinson were when Turner was the offensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers.[SUP][5][/SUP] The F-Back is much like the H-back in other offenses in the sense it is a hybrid position (WR/TE/FB) purposely versatile to take advantage of mismatches.

Blow for Barkley in full effect.

Don't even start this nonsense. Just like "Suck for Luck", Miami is never going to be in that conversation. Teams have to be REAL bad to have a chance for the #1 overall pick, and that is not Miami.

The best part about possibly drafting Tannehill in the first round is that it will END all this nonsense about rooting against the team for a QB next year.

If the guys we are picking up in FA are on Philbin's wish list....I am more than concerned.

Why?
