Phins to resume talks with Scott this week, plus more phins buzz

It's amazing that out of all the former U of M players we drafted since coming into the NFL in 1966, very few have panned out. When Vernon Carey is one of the best Canes players we ever acquired that is very telling!! Remember 1st round guys like Randal Hill and Yatil Green? That's just a couple examples of the crap we drafted from the U of M.

Well at least Randall hill turned into troy Vincent for us. Lol
 
I would love to sign Scott. That being said, I would also love to trade down and draft DeCastro.
 
Scott would be a good sign. Maybe give him a 5 Million signing bonus with a 4 year 20 million contract. He can earn minimum yearly salary in his first year to lower the cap and then pay him a 4 million average in his other 3 years. That way they can sign him and his cap would be 2 or 3 mil for next year.
 
i'll be shocked given how stingy ireland been with his contract offers if he ponies up a 4 year $20 mil deal to jake scott...interesting that parcells if its true thought he could get jimmy graham in the 4th thus he passed in the 3rd round...can't say i fault him for that thought process

Seriously, I'm curious. Elaborate. We do have a 7th round pick who was acquitted of a murder charge. It is what it is. I don't know what else you think might have been implied in those facts, but there was no judgment there. Wilson has had to carry that stigma, fairly or not it's impacted how he's been viewed.

I'm just a little ****ing baffled by this site at times. I make a factual statement. I'm called ignorant for making it then a group of people rush to thank you for calling me ignorant. I'd appreciate if you or one of your groupies clarified it for me. In one sentence I stated that he was a 7th round pick and that he beat a charge of murder. If either of those things are incorrect I'd like to know. You and the people who thanked you must have knowledge that contradicts these widely held facts. You should share it. Don't let us all live in ignorance.
 
Yatil Green, was NOT a crap pick...guy never had a chance due to back to back knee injuries...just settin´it straight!

I am convinced that character/sociocultural issues play a FAR bigger role in Dolphin personnel moves than any of us would dare to believe.

I submit that South Florida's lifestyle and culture is radioactive to guys with small children/families. The guys who aren't in that category are too easily caught up in the "sobe" vibe and I think the Dolphins know that. Don Shula seemed to recognize this effect in the latter stages of his career, especially after he was burned several times (Don Reese, Randy Crowder, Mike Charles, etc) Put Brandon Marshall squarely in this category too. I have long suspected THIS was what cost us Brees behind the scenes. He didn't want to raise kids in SFla.

The Dolphins have tried pretty hard to distance themselves from the Thug U aura of the canes, and RIGHTFULLY so.

Maybe that is why we don't win on Sundays.. "Thug U" as the uneducated people call it, brings the best players to the NFL. FACT.

Staying away from potential hall of fame talent should definitely be our priority :crazy:

Hmmmm... Draft a super talented widely sought after player from The U Or draft a player from a less known school :ponder:
Don't worry though, the Dolphins will pass on them AGAIN and they will once AGAIN burn us on Sundays while playing against our players drafted from the Wichita State Mosquitos :rolleyes2:
