Final cuts to get to a 53 man roster are in two weeks, Aug 31. Camp is over, and by the start of this coming week teams mostly know who made the team. This is the time when they try to get a little something in trade for players they know will be cut.

Which Dolphins, if any, could you see the team getting a bit back for, late round pick or maybe a player another team no longer has need for?

I'm thinking of maybe a guy like RB Slayton or, we do have WR's who are VG on ST's. Maybe even a Garrard or Moore.

Thoughts?

Doubt we have anybody we would get anything back for right now. Don't think we'll trade Moore, and there's nobody we don't need has any trade value.

I wish we could trade Kevin Burnett. He was a total bust last year and is hurt this year. Tell me why I'm wrong (I'm not saying I'm not).

I did not want Burnett because he could not cover. He played well vs the run, and rushing the QB but, did absolutely suck in coverage.

IF we decide to cut Gates, which I would hate, he should bring a late pick. We also have some VG ST players, who may bring a 7th.

The worst part is the reason we signed him was because he was supposed to be athletic enough to cover the TE's

The Dolphins need every possibly good player that they have. They cannot afford to trade anyone, nor would anyone want any players that the Dolphins have to offer. That is like buying something off of a homeless person.

We have starters that would not make most teams roster spot. We can not afford to trade any of our good players. We have to keep all of our good players and no one wants to trade for the players we are going to cut.

In the NFL it's less likely to trade for players that are on the bubble. Unless a team is really really sold on a certain player, they will simply wait till he's cut. And even then, sometimes they will bite the bullet and hold off on any trades....there's a lot of talent around to have to give something up for.

If Tony McDaniel weren't hurt then he would be tradeable. Matt Moore is tradeable. Chris Clemons might be tradeable.

Nobody is giving anything for Gates.

What of Gates, Slayton, or a ST stud at WR? I've seen teams give up late round picks in place of bidding for a cut. Didn't we trad a couple of guys on the OL, which surprised me, a couple of years ago?

Disagree. Teams are looking for WR's, and I could easily see someone taking a chance for his speed, and return ability.

Few are in greater need than us, and he may not even make it here. Teams will wait for him to get cut.

True story but, sometimes it's how a player fits on one team, which can be entirely different than another. I'm hoping he plays well tonight, and this will be a moot point.
