This may be (and probably is) all rumour and smoke-screens, but I read on SI.com that Tampa's John Gruden has apparently fallen in love with RB Adrian Peterson.

Now, you can imagine how his "love interest" of a couple years ago, Cadillac, is feeling now and its thought he now wants out.

If this is true it would really shake up the top 10.

Anyone else heard this from a different source?
 
I don't think it would shake up the top 10 too much, although it might impact any trade down opportunities we might have.

If Peterson gets by Cleveland, he might be in for a bit of a slide. Arizona seems to be the next most likely landing spot since I don't think Edge has a ton of time left there.

There's a very real possibility that he represents the BPA at #4, and we all know Cadillac needs to be spelled. Tampa picking him is not out of the question, just blows for them to spend two top 5 picks on running backs.
 
yea i saw it. i dont believe jon gruden ne more. he has fallen in love with everyone this offseason lol .... dont buy it
 
it's all a smokescreen, everything will shake out on draft day, until then you can't believe a word you hear. Do you really think teams are going to tip their hand before the draft?

the only ways is if CJ is gone but i dont see it happening
 
Y would tampa bay get peterson they just got a running back a couple years ago
 
I don't think there is any way Tampa Bay can draft Peterson. You cannot spend two top 5 picks on running backs in 3 years. If they can get something of great value for Williams then it is a different story. If Calvin Johnson falls to them and they pass on him for a running back, they will regret it for years.
 
If Johnson falls to Tampa...they take him. If he is gone before that...and Peterson is sitting there. Man, could you imagine Cadillac and Adrian sharing a backfield? Start the highlight reel.
 
I hate the word "smokescreen" BUT this is a smokescreen Gruden is desperate a few weeks ago he was saying they might draft a QB at #4.

He simply know the player he wants (Johnson) wont be there at 4 so he is trying anything and everything to drum up trade interest.
 
I agree, Zodiak. I believe Chucky is trying to get someone to offer a trade if his real interest is no longer available. If we trade with TB, then he can get Okoye without it being such a monster reach.

to that I responded, "it depends" .. at Tampa his only impact to us is to keep him out of our hair when it counts. (we would see him every preseason)That is why I said I would prefer him on an nfc team...implying Tampa.... then I commented on the worse case scenario, where he WOULD have an affect... "in our division" the last place I want to see AP.... I hope that helps..
