Pierre-Paul has right finger amputated

Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed, according to a source informed of the situation. ESPN first reported the news.

Amputating the finger is expected to simplify and accelerate the recovery, ideally enabling Pierre-Paul to return to the field in two months, according to Rapoport.

Funny enough this actually helps him get back on the field quicker.

Dont really see finger loss impacting his play. Not like he is a WR or CB.

I wonder if they will use hyperbaric oxygen to help his hand heal? We could have healed that right up without amputation but he may never have regained full use.

Was watching NFL live the other day and they were talking about this. Some twat said the injury will only put him off the field for 2 weeks, and after that his hand would be fine.

Dunno about anyone else, but I lost the tip of my finger 10 years ago, and it took 6 weeks before bumping it was not that painful. Losing a whole finger, skin grafts, plus other operations that may come up, I don't think he will be ready to hit the field till prolly October at earliest.
