1. COACHING. We will never be a top team in the NFL if we don't coach with killer instinct! Playing conservative and happy to kick field goals will never get it done! Not going for it on 4th and short and kicking a field goal is no KILLER INSTINCT! No adjustments on defense, Clarke should have been shadowed with a DB and bumped off the line after that first play. He was allowed to run free of the line way to much. The third down gimmick play call with Fassano pretending to fall down was pathetic! Calling run plays with 3 minutes left that resulted in gaining 6 yds before the 2 minute warining not gonna get it done!

2. Defense. Stop giving up the big play! Stay on your assignments fill your gaps and cover your receivers. Most importantly finish your tackle! Way to many missed or just flat out broken tackles so far this year!

3.Ted Ginn Jr. Great players career's are defined by great moments. You sir blew 2 great moments last night! You went from HERO to ZERO! You are in your third year enough falling down after the catch, or running out of bounds! Time to make a defender miss and break the big play!

4. Dan Carpenter. You are paid to convert kicks! You were at your home stadium you should be kicking from every square inch of dirt and turf in that place throughout the week! Missing that field goal cost us the game! We would have been kicking a field goal to win!

And I thought I was the only one that thought the missed field goal was huge when it went wide right.

I agree with most of your post except for this excerpt.

Even if Carpenter goes 4-4 we still would've lost by one point. I'm not saying it is acceptable for him to miss a field goal, but a 49-yarder is not an automatic 3 points.

If he makes it we were in FG position on the final drive. We snapped the ball from the 28yd line.

Coaching and defense are more to blame than anything else. a FG kicker is never to blame for a loss IMO if the offense does their job and gets into the endzone you don't need to kick FG's anyway. On the missed kick by Carpenter it wasn't even the offenses fault they didn' score but the playcalling got so conservative it made me sick. Oh and How do you not learn from your mistake at the end of the half when you're playing for just the FG and then PEyton easily gets Indy into FG range within a few seconds, then you're going to play for a FG and a measly 3 point lead with 4 minutes to go?

You're right. I didn't think about that. But don't underestimate our defense... I'm sure they would've found a way to lose the game for us. :(

I thought Carp did ok for kicking off the infield dirt. We blew too many opportunities and he did bail us out on most of them.

He is paid to do 2 things kick it between the uprights on fg's and extra points and kick it between the sidelines on kick offs. In the NFL inside 50yds, with no wind, rain or snow you MAKE THE KICK!!! He shanked it hell he didn't even hit the net!
