Draft the best available QB with one of our first three picks. My choice is Brody Croyle in Round 2.

Bring in the best veteran to play in '06 that you can. Kitna would work well. Groom the draft pick to play in '07 but we must get a good enough vet to challenge for the playoffs from game 1 next year.

Gus has to go along with Seau, Madison, How-hard, and Tillman. Max. cap room is needed to add one impact defender, at least two O-lineman and a nickel caliber receiver who could challenge for the #2 spot.

Draft the best available defender at OLB, DT or corner we can with the first pick. This goes out the window if somehow Nate Clement or Julian Peterson comes free.

Make a play for another veteran receiver like Josh Reed to catch the ball over the middle to take pressure off Chambers and R-Mac.

Two veteran OL must come in- again. Backus and Hutchinson would be ideal. A really solid center and a tackle would also work well. Carey should end up inside at RG and Hadnot should stick as a top backup.

Croyle in 2nd round is too much of a reach at this point. His stock may end up rising between now and the draft, but his current draft stock is 4th/5th round at best.

I think his stock will definitely rise as Bama continues to play well and Croyle has a very good arm.

Supply and demand dictates that he will probably be drafted ahead of where he should.

a lot can change between now and the draft.

FA will have a serious impact on who teams draft.

One thing that won't change is Croyle's injury history and the number of knee surgeries he's had.

Great analysis. I agree with most of what you said. I'm not sure about Hadnot versus Carey, though. As of now, Hadnot looks like the better player.

His stock is definitely on the rise and I bet late 2nd early 3rd is about where he'll fall. Croyle's biggest thing is staying healthy. If he can do that for the entire season, teams will look his way early. If not, yes the 4th/5th round might be right.

Gus is that veteran QB, maypissed be about it but thats whats going to happen.

Gus knows the system(unless Linnehan leaves for Minny but I doubt that. so in that case we could bring in Kitna)

Just wondering if we might be able to get a draft pick for Sam Madison. I would think he'd still have some value and he really doesn't fit what Saban wants from his corners.

Nice analysis, but I do think that we need to start our new young qb next year. I don't believe they can be developed from the bench as most will struggle their first year actually playing. For the three year plan to work for us to be serious contenders I think we need to get a young qb actually playing in the system next year (and suffer the growing pains) so they have the experience for 06.

stop with the gus knowing the system bull****. we need a guy who has accuracy.
GUS STILL SUCKS. this bum needs to get cut at the end of the year. a new veteran guy can learn the system.

I agree though if we get a high draft pick we should definitely go for a QB in the first round. You never know. Everyone thought Rodgers would go 1 or 2 but he dropped below 20. Same with Marino. Maybe lightning strikes twice. ;)

Kitna could work but I dunno if he wants to be a placeholder again. He would want a scenario where he can be starter long-term.

I think we should keep Madison and Seau. Let em retire as Dolphins and have them teach the youngsters while they're in uniform.

I don't want Reed. We can just as easily draft a WR to groom. A darn good center and guard/tackle depth could definitely be needed.

when is the FA period open to sign? well before the draft correct? if so, thats hwo we will approach teh draft i believe. Btw. what is a nickel WR?
