Plaxico Burress

Which "YOUNG" player do you cut to make room for Plaxico?

imo you have got to have enough vet guys that know what there doing out there ,that is if tanny is starting this year so he can succeed, if you look across the league ,you can take a franchise ,or probowler QB and they can make avg or below avg WRs look good ,so for tanny to succeed he is going to have to have WRS that know what to do (route running , comeing bk to tanny if he is getting pressure ) i mean all vets know how the game is played and have settled into the league , and imo we dont want to get tanny gunshy or to break his [h=1]Confidence, i sure dont want to ruin our QB that we havent had in 15 years because we dont want or think we need older guys on the team ,imo its going to take a couple of vets that know what there doing out there , after tanny gets settled in after a year then we can add more younger guys and it wont hurt tanny or get him hurt or gunshy , we need to get tanny all the weapons we can so he will be confident.[/h]

Does signing Plaxico Burress turn us into a playoff contender? No. So I don't see the point of signing yet another old WR to take away snaps from guys who may or may not be part of the future. No more short sighted moves.

read what i just posted its just not about having youth its about grooming our future QB i sure as hell dont want to ruin him because he dosent hve enough wrs that knows whats going on out there on the field , i dont want to go through anither 15 years without a qb .

dont have to cut a receiver, move one of the young kids to the practice squad for the year and give plax the same deal that Chad got. IF he is motivated to play, he will be an asset to the redzone offense

but we sign a guy that couldnt work with Tom brady? So whats the difference? Same kind of risk as Johnson, both are highly motivated and Plax would be great. He looked pretty good last year with Sanchez throwing him the rock

There is no difference. Hated the Chad Johnson signing. A useless short sighted move that doesn't really benefit the team.

It's significant that Rex Ryan elected not to keep Plaxico on the Jets after wooing him a year ago. It is also significant that no other teams have been knocking his door down.

I'd rather our coaches spend time and energy teaching the younger guys on the team. Plax may be a one year signing, but I say let's put more time inot our youth. They'll be here longer and hopefully contribute more with coaching and experience.

I'm not a big fan of the signing, but with how bad this WR group is even with Johnson, who did you want to bring in?

I'd rather just roll with the youngsters and hope they show something, or go after Mike Wallace. Guys like Johnson and Burress just don't make sense on a rebuilding team imo.

I'm good with trading for Michael Wallace if Pittsburgh is indeed interested. But as to these guys who may or may not have a year left, I'd just rather go with the young guys on the team and see what they have. We've already got Chad Johnson taking a roster spot from a younger player.
