Play opposing coach: Miami is up next week, whats your game plan to beat them??

I agree with the forfeit post. Go against a hungry 4-12 team with something to prove with a new head coach? On special teams why would I take a chance against the probablity of some of my key special teamers getting Tony BUA'ed? Too many special teams plays. Next thing I know I would be down to my STARTERS playing special teams!

On offense, why would I want to subject my starting QB to the tencacious Dolphins line rotation. I'd be getting plenty nervous seeing Matt Roth prowling the sidelines :sr23: just waiting for a passing down so he can meet JT at my QB:mdfin: .

On defense, my guys would be so tired from trying to tackle Ronnie Brown, and then the Fins bring in a fresh Ricky Williams late in the game:domodance ! No Way! Not to mention my secondary getting torched by Chambers & watching Boston :lifter: swatting away my DB's like flies.

AND I would definitely forfeit if it was a September game. It would be way too hot for my Northern team, and having to play on that infield would really stink.:dedolfan:

Naw, better to forfeit and just stay home, have some cold ones :xii: and wait for the easy games against the Jets & Bills . The final straw would be after the Fins kick my team's A** :hump: all over the field al day, having to watch all the reveling :moon: :beerbang: Fin Fans would be WAY too much!

on offense
i double jt with my te and a tackle, see if roth/holliday can beat u at the other end spot. then i go 3 wideouts to test miamis db's with one back to be the saftey valve out in the flats. then if i see the db's r covering well or the pass rush is too much, i go 2 te's, 1 back and 2 wide outs and and play action and see if miamis safteties and lb's can cover

on defense

well i single cover chambers and booker and put a saftey on boston and a lb on randy m. and blitz early and often especially up the middle and to the left side.
Then prepare to see Boston Light up your defense, because a Safety is NOT going to be able to cover Boston... either that, or prepare to see alot of the back of Ronnie Brown's back when he slips out of the backfield for a screen and burns those blitzing line backers. Either that or Draws and bootleg shuffle passes that Linehan likes to use to slow down linebackers with..

Also, good luck doubling JT since you won't know where exactly he'll be either lining up or coming from from down to down..

On offense, I would run, run, run, and then punt.

On defense, I would use a 4-3, rarely blitz, play tight coverage, expect my "D" to bend and not break, and most importantly win the game for the offense.

I then would...huh? Oh heck, silly me. I thought you meant what would Wanny do if he was playing the phins...

Work with your medicine Steve...Work with it... :goof: :goof: :goof:

On defense, I'd play it safe at first and allow Feeley to get a little bit of ****yness knowing he is a streaky player...allow him to get comfortable. Then I'd switch and instruct my blitzers to make him hit the dirt every down...passing or running. Make him hesitate. I'd put good money on getting at least 2 turnovers...and that usually = a win.

If you make him hit the dirt on running plays you would get a lot of 15yd unecessary roughness penalties. With Ronnie Brown and RW, you will give up huge running plays with too many blitzes. That will eventually cause a change in game planning especially if the Dolphins establish a running game. The safeties will be brought up and that will leave the deep middle open to CC and Boston (or McMichael). Miami has too many good players at the skill positions for teams on defense to cheat.

We are soft up the middle or our defense, so I would run right up the gut. Run until they prove they can stop it.

If Daniels can actually play C.B., we have a decent shot with him and Madison. DT, and saftey is our weak spots right now. Bell could change all that if he stays healthy, but when has he EVER stayed healthy?

On offense, I blitz Feeley, and make McKinney stop two guys sending my middle backer up the gut. The WR's can be the best in the league, but if the QB doesn't have a second to get them the ball, it doesn't matter.

Ronnie and Ricky WILL be effective, so mixing the run blitz in will be helpful as well.

This entire season rests at those three positions...QB, DT, and O line. If we have even slightly improved in those areas, we can win at least 8 games this year.

AJ hasn't shown the ability to adjust his reads so I try to alter my coverages at the snap. He also makes poor decisions under pressure so I would blitz him often.

Against our D I'd test the middle, short and deep. Lots of gut runs and then playaction over the safeties.

On offense I would pound it up the middle, and open up playaction pass. I would probably try and stay away from Madison because the other Cb's will be unproven and attack the safeties. If my offense would be able to get to Zach Thomas I will make some big plays in the running game and wear him out. I would send a fb to help on Taylor, and try to run some screen passes to see if he over pursues.

On defense if Aj is the Qb, I would disguise blitzes because he'd still be a relatively inexperienced Qb and try to confuse him. On 3rd and long situations I would run 2 deep and make Feeley make a play. Probably would line somebody up over McMike so he does not get a clean break from the line of scrimmage. To stop the running game I would just try to make Brown get to the outside and clog the middle and hopefully my Lb's have enough speed to make the play. It all depends on personnel though on how you would gameplan vs any team. Obviously a veteran Qb won't be as confused, if you're playing Mike Vick you wouldn't blitz as much because he gets sacked 1/8 times he drops back anyways, and it's too risky.

i'd probably run it right up the middle all game long, and attack whoever starts at corner opposite of madison. I'd use screens too, just because i've noticed our defense is just horrible against a well set up screen. They always have been.

On defense, blitz and prevent the deep pass. The running game is questionable as of right now, so its not a specific thing to worried about yet. Just keep Mcmiceal contained.

As Miami fans, we always look on the bright side of the coin. I've always found it interesting to look at our team through an opposing coach's eyes. That gives excellent indicators IMO on where our weaknesses are.

On offense, I would not redesign the wheel...I would POUND the heck out of Miami's soft middle and I'd test the safeties deep hoping for confusion in the new scheme and new players. I believe the odds would be in my favor to win this battle.

So wannabe coaches, whats your game plan against your own team?
:)

Offense: Run up the middle at our tackles and play action for deep pass against our second corner especially, until he proves himself.

Defense: Stop teh run as with any team and blitz the crap out of the QB to make him make mistakes and not let him deliver the ball on time to the Fins receivers. Of course this could backfire (and I hope it does).

I guess we agree somewhat.

The fins will counter blitzes with swing passes to Brown, very few teams are good enough to pound the middle over and over and face all of those 3 and longs

knowing I couldn't possibly win the game, I would send my second string out to prevent injuries...;)

Leave doobies in Ricky's locker and put valium in some Little Debbie cakes in Saban's office.

If i was the other coach i would be saying god i hope our offense survives
