play that may have lost it

I thought the same thing after that miss. The team looked like it folded on both sides of the ball after that. I've been saying it all year - NFL QBs make that throw. He's missed it all year. He needs to figure out how to hit that play in order to be an elite QB in the NFL.

I never subscribe to the theory that one play loses you a game but the play where Tanny missed a wide open Wallace when they were up 7-0 might have been one of those plays.
On the jets next possession they scored a TD and you could see the letdown in the dolphins. Huge turnaround.

Yep. That was it. I have been a Tanny defender all year but unfortunately I'm afraid to admit he isn't elite. If you cannot throw the deep ball in this league you aren't elite. He may be a good QB at some point, maybe a new coaching staff and QB coach change will make a difference, but he's a LONG way from elite. Time to clean house--top to bottom.

3 plays defined the game for me.

1. The one you pointed out. A 14-0 lead completely changes the game for obvious reasons. Lets see the Jests line up and run it every play then. 14-0 wouldve put much more pressure on Geno. Instead, we are forced to punt and give them good field position only down 7.

2. The play where Tannebust has a first down if he shows some guts, sticks his head in there and gets the 1st down. Ridiculous game and situational awareness by Hennehill. We wind up turning over on downs and give the Jests great field position. Our D STANDS THEM UP of course(but our D is terrible if you ask people on TanneHeaven) but we get horrible field position on our next drive.

3. Turnoverhill finally throws a good pass to Wallace for what shouldve been a PI in the endzone, but follows it up with an INT. Crusher. A FG there wouldve helped a great deal.

I thought Wallace advertised an extra gear, didn't see it on the bomb. And yes, he could have laid out for it but he hasn't done that all year. Just another prima donna WR.

Matthews drop was the turnaround.

I think that play symbolizes our lack of awareness throughout the seasons than anything that is remotely promising.

That run by Tannehill...the 20 1/2 yard run...symbolized our season. Promising, but just THAT much short. I knew we were done then.

If Tannehill and Wallace are going to do anything next year, they need to spend plenty of time together in the offseason. Show up at the practice field every day and throw long bombs to Wallace till Tannehill's arm drops off and Wallace is throwing up from running so much.

I thought when Tanny lost his go to guy Hartline..........that was the beginning of the end
Tanny had a pretty clean pocket & those crossing routes with Hartline would have made a difference IMO
