The board seems to have largely turned against Tannehill after these last two weeks. Myself included. Call it too reactionary if you will, but after 7 years I dont think its really fair to say that. Even in our 3 wins he was solid, not spectacular. Week 1 was the best game by far, and that still only meant 230 yds and 2 picks. Hes had an up and down career, but I just think 7 years is already a few too many to keep waiting, regardless of the circumstances.

The next question is whether we want Gase to be the coach for the replacement. For all the complaints about him, he inherited a mess and took his team to the playoffs the first year. No one can take that away from him, as he deserves a lot of the credit. But hes also made a lot of questionable decisions as we all know. I hear a lot of people talk about how bad his playcalling is, mostly due to the short passes. But I know for a fact that not many people on here have access to the tape necessary to know that. Does anyone who does have an answer to the question of whether Gase calls significantly more short routes than others in the league?

One way or the other, barring some insane turnaround to the season, I think the fans are largely of the belief that a major change is needed somewhere. Im leaving the GM discussion out of the poll because just about everyone agrees Tannebaum needs to go.

I picked dump Tannehill as predicted, but I just do not see any reason to blow this whole thing up with a regime change. Tannehill would not come back in anything but the give both a chance selection. Otherwise a new coach would not possibly tie themselves to Tannehill, of course I said that about Gase.

Neither one is progressing at anything.

Playcalling stinks, offense still bottom 5, team still starting slow if at all. Can’t seem to correct penalties.

Tannehill still has no signs of any kind of internal clock, decision making iffy, still bad footwork in the pocket.

Miami is stuck like chuck with these two falling flat on their faces trying to lead Miami to success lol

too many plays being made around the league at the QB position to stay pedestrian with ryan tannehill. as for gase, i just dont think he has the people skills and leadership ability to succeed as the head coach. perhaps he is better suited to be a coordinator.

Neither Tannehill or Gase possess the ability to improvise when the defecation hits the oscillation. Great QBs don't require everything to be perfect before they can succeed and great coaches don't require everything to be perfect to have success.

Little too early to ask that question. If the Dolphins end up 8-8 or better nobody will fire them. That is just reality. The Dolphins will argue "oh we are so close". I would even reckon that a 7-9 record might save them. Throw in the injury excuse and everything stays path.
Only way I see the Dolphins making changes if we end up with a 3-6 win season. That means we have 3 wins max the rest of the way.
And if that happens then it is not a question about who (Gase or Tannehill). They both have to go accompanied with a major FO shake up.

I would let both of them finish out the season. A 8-8 or less finish, then both get fired. Gase was supposed to be this offensive guru when he was hired. Gase is clearly not a guru. I also wouldn’t stop with firing Gase and cutting Tanny. I would fire the entire front office. Everyone who has potentially talked to TBum would be fired with the exception of Marino. Idc what Marino’s role is, he is the greatest QB and can do whatever he wants for the organization for all I care.

Sadly I agree with that, I'm just praying someone smacks Ross awake.

Can't trust Gase. His ego thinks talent is optional. I would rather have a coach that can actually manage talent. A new coach doesn't necessarily have to come in and clean house because Gase has already been doing it. Expect for his hard-on for Tannehill for some reason.

As for Tannehill, I wasn't on board when Miami over-drafted him and have never considered him to be a top 20 QB. I'm under the belief if a team does not have a top 10 talent at QB then they have QB problems.

I vote moving on at the end of the season from both.

Even the biggest Tannehill supporter would love to draft a "franchise" QB. We just think the cost in draft picks to do so would be better used to bolster the rest of the roster and make do with an "average" QB (for now) given all the "holes" we currently have.

The Dolphins typically finish in the "average" range , and therefore pick in the middle of the pack. So what would it cost to move into, say, the top three slots (from pick 16)? You could spend your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for the next two years. Maybe it wouldn't cost that much but bottom line is you are going to be trading the rights to pick one player now for the rights to pick 4-6 players over two years.

We aren't likely to draft an elite QB, DE, or LT at 16, but you might get a pro bowl WR, CB, RT, or LB'er. In the second round you might get a pro bowl RB, OG, or TE. And so on.

There is no guarantee that a QB drafted at any place in the draft will be a "franchise "QB". In fact history has proved he won't be.

So some of us just think we are better off "filling in the roster" with quality players and bidding our time. Every now and then potential franchise QB's fall into the late teens, or even farther. When that happens we need to make the bold move. For the present some of us think we are better served improving the OL and running game. If Parker was what we hoped for, and we ran more under center with play action, Tannehill has proven in the past he can complete passes in the intermediate range with a high percentage rate. With a good defense, and strong running attack, that can take you a long way. Granted, not super bowl, but at least respectable. Given where this team has been for the last couple+ decades "respectable" sounds A-Okay to me.

If we ran the football in the 4th quarter of the Bengal game we win easy. I watched Shula do it over and over. 4th quarter, punish the other team with Larry Czonka. You're on the road against a high quality team, your defense has them pretty much handled and Special Teams has scored a TD and blocked a FG. The only way to lose at this point is to give it away by being stupid. That was the option we chose. We had Frank Gore and Kenyon Drake both having good days. So they put it on Ryan, with a depleted o-line and Laremy out. That's what I call stupid.

Too many holes on the roster to be chasing potential franchise QBs and trading draft stock to do so.

Rosters always have holes. Under this reasoning, the Dolphins will never have a franchise QB. The new strategy in the NFL is gamble to get the franchise QB, then surround him with talent through free agency or trades while that franchise QB is counting for peanuts against the cap.
