Player cuts

Oh boy. Can we get a running thread for NFL training camps so there's not a thread for every player released?

And no thanks.

PFF ranked him their #16 OG last year.

Hey, who needs him, we have Ted Larson!

If the Dolphins don't jump on this chance they are just straight stupid.

He would immediately be the best guard on the Dolphins team.

Barbre is a good solid player. He's getting released primarily for cap reasons. Eagles are tight on cap space anyway and need every bit of cap room they can get to extend impending FAs like Jeffery and Jerningan. The Eagles drafted Isaac Seumalo in the 3rd round and he showed enough upside potential that he needs to start. Barbre would have been relegated to 6th man(can play every line position except center) and with the Eagles' cap situation they couldn't afford his scheduled salary for that role. Plus they need to develop young offensive linemen and there are only so many roster spots available for OL on the 53-man roster. Dolphins should jump at signing him.

PFF ranked the Eagles OL No.1 heading into the 2017 which left quite a few people up here in Pa scratching their heads and asking, really? Lane Johnson was their only solid contributor and that was only for the last 6 games of the season before serving a 10 game PED suspension. One can argue his performance was based largely on his ultra-motivation to prove himself after letting down his team and fans.

"Allen Barbre finished with a PFF final grade of 80.8, but that was between splitting reps at left guard and right tackle. Barbre was ranked among the top three left guards in football before Lane Johnson served a 10-game suspension."

I watched quite a few of their games and Jason Peters struggled more than his PFF grade would lead you to believe.

I am not going to pretend like I sit here and grade out each NFL OL unit, let alone each individual player but something is really out of whack with their rankings. Eagles need interior OL help and with a base salary of 1.25 Million in 2017 something doesn't add up (with PFF's rankings)

I wouldn't be looking at Barbre to help this roster.

My response is more about pro football forcus than Allen Barbre.

Doubtful. Gase is probably gonna rely on tempo to offset guard play and be content with serviceable.

Yea bro, PFF is a joke. They love the Iggles oline for some reason though, if it was up to them Evan Mathis would be a first ballot hall of famer lol. They listed him as the top guard in the NFL for something like 3 seasons in a row. I mean he was good, but not all-world like they were acting lol.
