To me, what's good about this team is that there isn't one player to pick out that made the team what it has been the last month or so. Sure, Chambers has had an excellent year, but Booker and Welker have solid enough in support to allow him to not be triple-covered. JT is awesome, but Vonnie Holliday has been great. We all love Zach, but Crowder's surprisingly advanced play has really helped. The defense as a whole has been above average, but how good would it have been with Donnie Jones' repeatedly booming punts and the entire ST's spectacular coverage downfield all season long. And the whole offensive line, as we know, has stepped it up big time.
And this is a very good thing, because we're not the 2004 Dolphins, where, without Ricky, we were toast. I realize he might not be back next season, but we have two RBs to rely on right now. We have more than one good receiver. We have more than one premiere DL/LB. With player development, free agency, and the draft, we're in a position to fill holes with good or even very good players but don't have the need for the overpriced prima donna superstar, and I don't necessarily mean TO. Except for QB, we've got some kind of real plan or evident way to fix it this offseason. That's a very secure feeling.
