Player responsible for Martin hazing.....

I was considering last night that Richie Incognito was not "injured" during the game last night, but instead was benched by the coaches or himself for the alleged prank/bullying. He looked completely fine riding the bench like he had come to terms with it long before it happening. It ended up not mattering as the game plan was max protect with 3 tackles and 2 TE's every other play.

Armando brought up some interesting stuff today on PFT Live. Stuff I wasn't aware of.

He said Martin was in on most of the pranks and was apparently a willing participant in them.

This isn't hazing, it's a guy with emotional problems losing it in a totally unprofessional and childish environment.

Who do you guys feel is responsible for the majority of the Martin hazing?

my guess is cogs, but I could definitely see Pouncey.

Honestly? If he was actually bullied or picked on I think Martin needs to bare the brunt of the responsibility. My heart goes out to the Kid it really does especially if there is mental illness involved. But this is a mans game and he has been playing lousy and as a result the entire line took **** for it. Imagine having to scrub a toilet with your toothbrush every time one of your group members ****s up and that member ****s up each and every day. Your going to give that person grief.

Like I said my heart goes out to him as a person but he is in no way void of responsibility for this.

The 2 players who have come out publicly and said that they welcome him back are Garner and Clabo. The probable leaders of the O-line, Pouncey and Incognito have been conspicuously quiet, although maybe Pouncey is getting some caps made to express his inner thoughts (Clean up the mess!)

Bullying can happen at any age, it's not just for children under a certain age. Anytime someone makes your life uneasy or complicated on purpose, that's a form of bullying. I'm sure ppl have been bullied at work by an ******* boss or co-worker. And just cause he's a 300 pound offensive linemen doesn't mean he can't have issues or deal with them with violence. I think this is a little more than that

I am surprised people have blamed Jeff Ireland for this yet.

someone with a brain. a rare sight on this website.

There has been a lot written on this subject, but I'll throw out a couple of scenarios:

What if, as a result of their poor play, the OL decided to go the PED route. Martin is a smart dude and says no, so gets ostracised from the group and decides to walk away?

What if he has family issues - an ill relative, a failing relationship etc. and the 'harmless prank' just tipped him over the edge?

The point is, we have no idea what is going on with Jon Martin other than one media report of a canteen prank which everyone now assumes is why he walked away. Do the above hypotheticals make him 'soft', or a 'b***h'?

And I'm pretty sure this guy who needs to 'man up' could tear 99% of people on here limb from limb...

Well said. If all this is true the situation went way past having a little fun. And the question that must be asked...if you need Martin to be a OL starter and to contribute and know that the joking around upsets him apparently quite a bit..then why did it continue to where we stand now??? And, why didn't someone else stand up for the guy??? He may be an NFL OL, but keep in mind he's being "bullied" by guys the same size or larger. There's something missing from the story...and I guess part of the problem I've got with it is the Martin is being made out to be the criminal in all this and not the victim.

I think we just don't have all the facts yet....but since the "players union' is looking into it eventually it will probably all come out. Whatever happened the organization will not come out looking good at all one way or another. Just sad really, another thing to be dealt with along with the Pouncey issue, instead of just the focus being how to improve the team.

Another thing, no way was Martin the only bad player on our O-line. The whole line stinks as a group.
If the O-line as a group for some good reason believed it was all because of Martin...they pick on him, instead of help him, and in turn, them, get better?

Doesn't make sense.
