Player who will be a surprise 'cut'

I don't know if there would be a cap hit or cap savings, but I have a strange feeling that Marty Booker could be let go.

1. I've seen many practice reports with plays being made by Maurice Mann, Josh Davis, Wes Welker, and especially Bryan Gilmore. Saban even had some praise for Kendall Newson. Saban and Linehan might want to see if one of the young receivers can step up.

2. Derrius Thompson and Booker are both possession receivers, but Thompson is cheaper.

3. I believe the rest of the guys also play special teams. Booker does not.

4. Boston is a more dynamic receiver. It's a gamble to count on Boston to stay healthy, and he does face a suspension for the substance abuse violation, but he's still looking better than Booker.

Don't underestimate the importance of a long snapper.

I think you missed my point. Im not saying that Perry would be released, Im saying that just because Perry is on the team doesnt mean we would keep fewer TE's. Like, if Saban feels this offense needs 3 TEs then we would keep 3 besides Perry.

You can't compare Thompson to Booker. Booker isn't going to be cut.

By the way, cuts will most likely include Berlin, Minor, Kay-Jay, Mann, Whitley possibly, Rookie TE OR Lee, maybe some LBs like Jenkins unfortunetly, but all these are just guesses, honestly I have no clue whos going out, I dont know how the new guys are doing. This must be hard on Saban.

As much as I hate to say it, the biggest surprise cut could be David Boston. He's been limping from reports that I have read, but is infact improving on getting his game back. I realize that being 6th or 7th or whatever he is on the Depth Charts is irrelevant at this time but I extremly doubt he'll get cut, I'm just saying it's not a 100% guarentee he'll make the team, but I suppose that goes with almost any player. Despite some Ricky haters, Ricky will most definitely make the team. Now as for some surprise cuts... I would say some possibilies would be:

Sage Rosenfels, Travis Minor, Kay Jay Harris (Most likely will make PS), Keith Traylor (Hope not but injury is a major concern), Seth McKinney (They say surprises can be good), Taylor Whitley (I just wanted to get him out of the way, no surprise here. Did I mention he allowed 8 sacks single handely last year?), John St. Clair, Donald Lee, and that's all I could think of right now. I really do believe that Seth will get released on the final cuts and Taylor Whitley no doubt in mind, he will be released.

If you would of said, white people usually arent good returners, i wouldnt of found anything wrong with that. Thats not racist, thats correct.

But the fact that you basically said u want to throw him out right away just becuz of his color is flat out wrong.

With our quality of RBs, and Lee and McK play so far....would those cuts be "surprises" ???

I think Chester is going to get cut...or put on IR...

Well I understand that, but I'm a HUGE fan of Boston and have been excited about him since the day we traded for him last year and have waited over a year to see him in Dolphins uniform. I'm hoping he makes the team, and I would love if it he started opposite of Chambers or even in 3 WR sets with Chambers and Booker. But as of now, it sounds Thompson has been ahead of him and I'm still worried because it's been reported he's been limping from reports after he told reporters he's 100%. I hope he gets playing time, stays healthy, and has a very product season... Comeback player of the year could be a realistic scenario. I'm hoping the best for Boston, I'm a HUGE fan of him and have been rooting for him from Day 1.

He's talented enough to be the best WR we have...he just needs to stay healthy

gus frerotte will be cut and they will sign a better veteran QB
