The commentators in the Denver game quoted Zach as saying, "EVERYbody is on edge."

Well if everyone was truly on edge, and if they still are, couldn't that explain some of these penalties? If I'm an O lineman and I'm "on edge," aren't I more likely to false start? If I'm a DB and I'm "on edge," aren't I more likely give someone a late hit to release some of my tension?

I see what you're getting at, but I think you (and the commentators) are reading into that too much.

From what I've seen/read, I think Zach saying that everyone's on "edge" is meant as everyone's practicing/playing with intensity and urgency.
