For Dolphins fans who have supported the team through the years, this Christmas brought a present they’ll remember for a long time.

The Dolphins are going back to the playoffs, a tremendous reward for all the hard work the team put in and some joy for those fans who have stuck by the franchise.

“They deserve it,” safety
Michael Thomas
said. “They’ve been with us, stuck with us throughout this whole time. Miami Dolphins fans, that’s one for you.”

Head Coach Adam Gase said he’s been impressed by the fan support.

“When we go to play games and those things get tight, the volume that our stadium is generating right now has been outstanding,” Gase said. “The excitement, you feel it when you walk into the stadium; you feel it through the players when they step out on the field. There’s a different juice for us when we’re on our sideline, when we’re at home. Our guys do everything they can to try to maintain that when we go on the road, but it’s not the same. You feel a big-time difference.

People who've been to to a home game before and after renovations, does the roof really make a difference?

Winning helps. fans are actually beginning to make noise and stand up on 3rd downs. I am sure the roof contributes to the volume but the biggest difference in my section is fans are actually cheering in mass.

Yea it does ...I was at the Arizona game and it was louder than any game I've been to with the exception of the Michael Thomas Int against Brady in the end zone. It's really great

And this year we had two home stadiums, Metlife was ours even before the start of the game.

That was the loudest I've heard at a stadium ever including last year's NFC championship game where the Carolina fans were going nuts. The stadium should be rocking again this Sunday.

This and that.

The roof definitely helps. I already said after our lone preseason game that the 30k were quite loud and the roof really echos the noise back. It really didn't start to make an impact until the 3rd home game. Cleveland and TN were louder than in previous years but the enthusiasm didn't start until the Pittsburgh game. Home game 1 and 2 were no barn burners and I caught myself a few times being complacent throughout the games.
After Gase fired 3 players the team came out on fire against Pittsburg and that spark went right to the fans. It is indeed a double sided sword. I don't know about the 49er game since I wasn't there but in all of the other games we cause delay of game penalties, time outs and forced several times opposing offenses to snap the ball with a second or so left and never get really set. I have to go back to the 90s to remember similar moments.

Despite not having a full capacity stadium yet this season as a seasonticket holder I have to say it was a fun season. Going to home games counted for something. Watching your favorite team fight and lifting the fans spirit is pure enjoyment.

Yeah, fans and roof equally contributed.

Not sure if we will have full capacity against NE. There are quite a number of tickets still available. The Dolphins may declare a sell out but a lot of secondary market tickets are still available. But it will be a good showing.

You guys attending games should be proud. Im having a tough year so i haven't made a game in person yet but next year ill be there for at least one. Great job, keep the home field advantage alive.

I've been to two away games, the Baltimore game and Buffalo game, and the Fins were well represented in those stands...there's a special feeling around this team, and I think it starts with the passion you see in players like Landry, Wake, Stills, Ajayi and hell even Micheal Thomas

They gave a sideline warning for crowd noise @ the San Fran game. I have a very vague memory of that happening maybe 2 or 3 times since the move from the Orange Bowl (and I could be imagining that).

I firmly believe this week will be like no other game fan wise since the Orange bowl days (Made the playoffs + It's the Pats + The stadium acoustics + playing for possible 5th seed = INSANE NOISE). It's going to be so loud in there, people are going to want to go to a rock concert to hear each other better.

This is bizzaro world in a good way. Before there was the giant blame loop about whether the team performance at home was because of poor crowd support or the crowd support sucked because of team performance.

This is nice!

Not even a question, it absolutely does. I was at the Buffalo game in October and it was the loudest I ever heard it, and I've been to a playoff game in the old stadium configuration.

Ya kudo's to the fans that made our home games special this year. I can't wait to see the renovated stadium in person. I've been to a few homes games but none since the season opener against New England in 2014.

The home field advantage has been obvious even through the TV. I am very proud.
