JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars are a lousy team, no doubt about that. But if you had said before the game that the Dolphins would have defeated Jacksonville by 14 points on the road, you’d gladly take it. A win is a win and road wins are never a gimme.

But the Miami locker room was very solemn after Sunday’s 27-14 win. And it’s because of the way Miami won the game.

They should be unhappy. Feels much better this morning than past Monday's when a performance like that would have garnered a loss.

It wasn't impressive but really that tannehill pick in the end zone was the biggest reason we didn't blow them out. Punch it in there and it's 31-6 at the time and the offense would have put up 17 in the 2nd half.

nitpicking here, but it was 27-13

that said, it's a game we had to get out of the way and not find a way to lose. we almost did that, but won in the end. time to focus on San Diego

Good! Motivation, so they're not embarrassed against Diego next week.. Gonna need their A-game

I would like to think so.

I really like that the offense feels like they have a lot of work to do, maybe that they even feel like they "owe the defense one." We're going to need them firing on all cylinders this week, and we may need them to bail out our defense if Rivers is on.

This Chargers game reminds me a little of the situation KC was in when they came to play us. They were in much need of a win. Chargers are in the same spot. We have to play like we are also.

Best thing I heard all day. That tells me they know they need improvement and they also know a good team would have beat them up yesterday.

I agree, football is played more between the ears than between the lines. Great coaches can try to influence the mental aspect of football but it isn't easy. If we had blown out the jags it would have been a lot harder to get everyone to understand how hard it is going to be to win vs SD. This Chargers team will have had 10 days to get ready for us and they are a very good team.

The SD game is very important in that we have already lost to KC and the bills. If we lose to SD it will mean that we have lost to 3 of the teams we are battling for the last WC spot. Head to head tiebreakers are going to mean a lot in the last few weeks of the season. If we lose this game we will be behind at least 6 teams fighting for those two wild cards, and will have lost 3 tiebreakers, and will be sitting at 4-4. I really don't see how we could overcome that unless we went the rest of the season with no more than 1 more loss. If we lose to SD 10-6 will probably not get us in the playoffs.

I hate to call SD a "must win", but it pretty much is if we want to have any shot at making the playoffs. If we lose to SD we will have to win 2 out of 3 on the road in Detroit, Denver, and Boston, not to mention sweeping the jets and beating the bills and ravens. I just don't see it happening. We HAVE to beat SD to even have a chance.

Good to know the "players" weren't happy.....but if Tannehill wanted to be a TRUE leader he would step up and say "I stunk, I didn't do enough, the offense was anemic and we have to do better....thank God for our defense since they kept us in the game and won it for us"

Hopefully he said something like this privately....obviously we can't know but if he did that would go a LONG way to gaining respect from the D as well as any non-delusional offensive player.

And while I know it's the final score that counts, the Fins were lower in every category - less total yards, less passing yards, less rushing yards, less first downs, lower total time of possession (and 1st half was Jags 21:26 vs Fins 8:34...sheesh)....when anyone fairly knowledgeable about football sees that they would know without even watching the game that the Defense must have played lights out to secure the win.

. Brian Hartline, who had back-to-back 1,000 yards seasons, is regressing in Miami’s offense. He was targeted four times on Sunday and had just one catch and appeared to have three drops.

You can pretty much overlook the fact that Mike Wallace had just two receptions on seven targets because he’s been carrying the receivers this year. But the Dolphins need another strong outside receiver and if it’s not Hartline, who else?

Rookie Jarvis Landry is developing as a quality slot receiver, but he’s likely not the answer right now on the outside.

I don't understand why we can't put Landry in Hartline's spot and put Gibson in the slot. It's not like Hartline is super-fast and even if IF he does have faster game speed than Landry, which I doubt, Landry would make up for it with RAC yards.

I was a Hartline supporter last year, but this year he seems more focused on pimping men's dress shirts on Twitter than catching the ball on the field.

Disagree, Hartline should stand up and say "I stunk" for dropping 3 catchable passes when we needed first downs. Colledge should stand up and say "I stunk" for letting my QB get smashed twice in the first half. They both should be apologizing to Tannehill, the team and the fans. IMO the only thing Tannehill should apologize for is going to Hartline a 3rd time.
