I hate this mentality. IMO, we should be going all out for a first down with major plus yardage on every play. This right here makes me crazy watching us play...

But the Dolphins’ best hope for change on third downs starts with smart and opportunistic play earlier in the possessions, and so far those aren’t team strengths.

No negative plays on first and second down gives us a chance to, say, third and 6 or less,” Gase said, “which gives us a higher percentage of converting.”

Personally you should be doing your best to avoid 3rd down at all costs. Then, if you are forced into a 3rd down situation, throw it past the sticks to get that first down. This 3rd and 8 but throw a screen or run a a draw has gotten old. We want to see up tempo (starting to see it in preseason) and we want to see us push the ball downfield (haven't seen it called at all).

As long as we live in this "play for a higher % 3rd down situation" we will be destined to fail. There is no reason for this offense to not be opened up.

as much as our offense plays within a 10 yard box you'd think we'd be better in the redzone.

either way, hate gase's mentality and tannehill's propensity to throw underneath.

It seems like he knows it needs to be changed but fails to do so. I have heard enough of excuses, bad OL, Parker, Landry a 10 yd player, dumb players etc...bs. Get it done or admit we are dink and dunk, slow paced and will be a consistent 6-8 win team.

Agreed, Gase just opened his kimono to reveal his inner Sharon Stone.

Horrible strategy. He should label it as the offensive equivalent of Olivadotti’s “Prevent Defense”.

The “Prevent Offense” has been born

Baby steps! No reason to set the scoreboard on fire when there isn't an electrician in the house. Gase is expertly guiding the O to "manageability" (Y1-Y3)

after that comes "sustainability" (Y3-Y6) then comes: PROductivity! (and Stupid Bowls galore!

Ya gotta believe. And of course. Buy season tickets. And lots of merch!
