Now that we know the Dolphins will be playing two games on Thursdays, do you think playing mid week is an advantage or disadvantage? I see it as an advantage since we open the season on a Thursday there is no lost preparation time, and it gives us three extra days before our next game. I see the Thanksgiving Day game as an advantage as well, since we play the Lions.

it would be nice if our bye week comes the week before Thanksgiving!!!

The Steelers game won't be an issue being the first game of the season, but the Lions game will be tough, only because it's away...but then they players will get an extra day or two off, so they can recoup...

What do you all think the odds are of us having our bye week prior Lions game ??? I doubt it, we'll problably get our bye week the third week of the season like we always do (except 2004)...anyways, we can hope ??

Oops didn't see your post...sorry to repeat...

I think the first game is a huge advantage. Being how sore they will be from really getting hit for the fist time all year. It will give there body's extra time to completly heal.
The second thursday game is good since were playing the lions but I hate having only 3 days of rest the next game I think that always hurts because your body is not completly recuperated.

its an advantage. whoever we play after the lions and steelers we will have extra time to prepare for. and i just have the feeling after the lions will be a big game. Only possible problem is overlooking the lions and being unprepared and ****y going against them on thanksgiving. but i think we will triumph.

The three days rest will be for the Lions game, but the Lions will be in the same boat as us. Unless they are lucky and get their bye week before they play us. We will actually have three extra days for the next game.

id be shocked if Saban doesnt have his team fired up for the first game of the season, thats a huge huge game and Saban knows it. Also Id also be shocked if Saban doesnt have em fired up for his first ever thanksgiving day game. Saban will thrive in prime time i feel it.

Saban has a whole offseason to prepare for Pittsburgh, this is great I think we will come out guns a blazin with or without C-Pep. Definate ADvantage for Thursday games!!

saban wont let his team get ****y, that happened week two after a win against denver, and he wont let that happen ever again.

As long as the Lions dont have a by week before the game when we dont than I think I agree.

Seems like we always get the bye week early.

That's a good idea. They should do that for all 4 Thanksgiving day teams. That would make a ton of sense. I wonder why they don't.

The two are completely different scenarios. With our season opener on a Thursday, our final preseason game will be the Thursday before. Thus we will have a full game week of preparation, just that our practices will start on Sunday instead of Wednesday. With the Thanksgiving game, we will have played the Sunday before, so we'll be on a very short week.

There is no chance of our bye coming before the Thanksgiving game. Byes are only in weeks 3 through 10 -- therefore, the latest possible bye date would be November 12th.
