#1 Miami must win out

#2 Patriots or Ravens must lose 1 game

Even Miami doesn't HAVE to win out . . . to win the division. For the wildcard . . . yea they pretty much need to win out.

For the division . . . if the Pats lose to, let's say the Pats finish the last 4 games 2-2 . . . and one of the losses is at Buffalo . . . and the Jets go 3-1 . . . and the Fins finish 3-1 . . . then all 3 teams are 9-7 . . . but the Fins own the tiebreaker and they would HOST a playoff game on wildcard weekend.

For wildcard . . . a loss would be devastating . . . too many teams can finish 9-7 and Miami would also NOT own the tiebreak to whatever team beat them, which there may be a decent chance that same team finishes 9-7. Miami will be better served losing to Houston or Tennessee, because a loss to Jacksonville would end that wildcard dream.

#1 is the less likely (and therefore more important) event.

If you think about it, for #2, asking for just 1 out of 8 games to go the way we need is a good probability.

u guys r going way too fast......we have an opponent sunday who has a better record then us and are about 3 point favorites.....that means that we arent getting any respect right now ...we all need to take it 1 game at a time .....a quarter at a time.....a snap at a time......we have no room for error......we cant depend on another team helping us......we have 16 quarters left and 240 minutes of football to play.....now i dont know about ne of u but this season playoffs or not has been a success.....think about when we were 0-3 that gut disgust feeling of failure and another 11 months before we have another shot......and today we are all talking about playoffs;.think about that for a moment....the courage these guys possess is magical and no other team plays with as much ferocity then the MD.....so allthough im extremely happy we r in an incredible position we need to take the jags serious and come out with a bang ....im talkin about throw throw and throw keep hennes confidence where its at now.....we can for sure get a big lead and take them out of the game real fast

"we" don't have to take anything one game at a time....."we" are not playing in any games and have zero influence on any of the games. May as well have some fun and look ahead at our playoff chances while we are still in a position to do so.

Everything's fine, we're going to be ok...

If we are 3 point dogs on the road we are getting respect. especially against a team that is above us in the standings. when you know that home teams always get 3 points after the experts pick the winner on a neutral field.

No it's both. There should be an "and" placed there. We need the Pats to lose 1 and fins win out to take the division and we need the Ravens to lose 1 and we win out to get in the wildcard game... Also, the 1 loss for the Pat's needs to come from Buffalo for us to take the number 1 spot. so basically if we win out the season "and" the Pats and Ravens do the same we are out. There is some REALLY SUPER improbable chances that we get in with 9-7.
I hope we win out and get in the playoffs because if not it's no playoffs and a crappy draft pick.

Amazingly enough, we could suffer a loss to Houston or Tennessee and still be in ok shape.

Using the playoff generator, if you set it to 'Winning %', it basically sets the game to who would be favored for the final 4 weeks (more or less).

Set Miami to beat Jax and Pit.....they will be 10-6 in the #6 seed at that point. Go and change either of their games vs HOU or TEN....and they would still be the wild card at 9-7.

Way too many variables, and they certainly don't control their own destiny at 9-7, but it isn't too much of a stretch to say that they could be a 9-7 wild card if their loss was to TEN or HOU.

lets just win out and see what will happen. im pretty confident if we win out we will be in

Miami should be the teams that are left. At least JAX, TEN, HOU those teams have done some good things but after the schedule the Dolphins have been through they should be able to put these teams away. I'm hoping they grew a little bit in that New England game. No more non sense like the Buffalo game. The Steelers are having a terrible year and it's a home game. If they can get to that game at 9-6 and in one piece I think they have a good chance. That should at least be enough for a Wildcard and the way New England is going its 50/50 that they screw up somewhere.

Exactly

A loss to Houston or Tennesee means really nothing unless both teams finish (4-0) . . . which is unlikely . . . so they still at BEST would finish 8-8, so the head to head wouldn't matter cuz the Fins would be 9-7.

A loss to Jacksonville would put us 2 games behind the Jags, plus they own the tiebreaker . . . so basically 3 games behind . . . and we would have to go 3-0 and they would need to go 0-3 for us to be ahead of them. This is the biggest game of the year, when u think about it. A victory would make us tied with them, and we would own the head to head. HUGE GAME this Sunday . . . which is why I am making that drive from Fort Lauderdale to Jville that morning to support this team.

Also Denver has a 2 tough game left . . . so its not a lock, even tho they are 2 games up.

Pittsburgh and Bmore are the wildcards . . . and they play each other, so u really gotta hope Pitt wins that game, eliminate Bmore . . . and have a one game playoff with the Steelers . . . in OUR HOUSE . . . that final game of the year . . . god please let that be a primetime game . . . there is a thread where it craps on Landshark how it can't compare to the OB . . . it can't . . . but if that scenario plays out . . . Landshark will be ROCKING that Sunday.
